I understand being proud of your school and wanting to do something unique, but the whole non-green field fad has to end. I find it really hard to believe that it provides a competitive advantage, unless the brightness of the color blinds an opponent or makes them think they're on a bad acid trip. And yes, I'd still be saying that if the Huskies decided to make their turf all purple, all gold or alternating purple and gold every five yards. It's ugly and it draws attention away from the game because staring at the colors too long makes your eyes hurt. There's got to be a better way to show school pride than that.

As for the topic at-hand... I think someone is just getting their excuses lined up just in case their team loses on Sunday and the easiest excuse to make is artificial crowd noise when your team is on the road in a hostile environment. You know, it's funny... you either have really loud fans and get accused of artificially supplementing the crowd noise or you have fans that aren't as loud and you get accused of being a lousy fanbase that doesn't support its team with 100% passion. You just can't win with people who have to reach for dumb excuses for why their team lost.

Could be worse... a team could install blue turf and screw up everyone who has been playing on green grass / or grass like service for their ENTIRE lives..

What's funny is that their coach doesn't think it gives them any kind of advantage when they wear all blue.

They're just never gonna learn are they? The NFL has been over that stadium with a fine tooth comb. There's no artificial noise being piped in and every time people accuse us of that it only makes us scream louder.

There was a youtube video made years ago by a Redskins fan who used the drinking fountain at SeaTac that makes babbling river noises when you press the button as proof that we pipe in noise. It was amazing. I can't find it now unfortunately.

That is a fair enough statment. The entire fanbase shouldn't be held accountable for individual statements like this.

Strange that I don't recall seeing you defending the Seahawks fanbase on the 9er board when they are bashing them there.

Besides, I never stated which fanbase I was referring to. You were quick to jump to an assumption on this!

What assumption? It would be unfair to judge a fan base based on a few. I don't think that all Dodger fans are thugs because Stowe almost got killed at Dodger Stadium. If one or two or ten people are bitching about sound in SEA, they don't represent the rest of the fan base. If it IS Niner fans you are referring to, I have no problem with SEA and their noise. In fact, it is one of my bucket list items to watch a Niner/Hawk game and HEAR the place. Much like the Big House. Clearly not all of us have any issue with the sound in the stadium. I for one hope the new crib is structured similar to the CLink.

I may be wrong, but didn't the NCAA tell them to wear orange for home games? I thought they were, but I could be wrong.

No, they weren't allowed for a while. The MWC wouldn't allow it when they joined from the WAC, but rescinded that decision when Boise decided to stay instead of going to the Big East.

Thanks! Nice quick, understandable answer. It makes sense now.

Would any of you be opposed to their blue field if they were mandated to wear either white or orange at home?

Again, I agree with you. It is not fair to judge many based on the actions of few.

You are a respectful poster here dredinis and I appreciate that, but you have to remember that this is the Seahawks board and rival teams (in this case yes, it is the 9ers) are going to get bashed to a certain extent.

When go to the 9ers board (I rarely if ever post there) I see the Seahawks and their fans getting bahed on a regular basis. So my question stands: How come I don't see you defending the Seahawks fans on the 9ers board when they are making generalizations about us over there?

I also want to point out that I did not post the entire conversation but there were several persons agreeing with the "points" the guy made about the noise levels.

LOL! I remember that. Talk about an idiotic leap to a conclusion!

Ironic since the Redskins actually got busted piping crowd noise through their own PA system during the playoff game at FedEx last year. And their embarrassed fans were the ones who reported it to the media.

The NFL already has done their own monitoring and confirmed the Seahawks don't pipe crowd noise through the PA. All 12th man.

Suck on that Giner Whiners.

I HAVE defended hawk fans when I feel it was warranted. For example, I vouched for UhSplit as he wasn't doing anything wrong. I don't even remember what he said but spoke up then. There are others that come to drop a quick 42-13 reference on the board that I won't defend.

One of those rare cases when being loud and obnoxious is actually beneficial, damn, I wish that worked in Oakland.
