Finally got Dez

OK, fantasy ethics question. I made it widely known in other posts that I wanted Dez in the draft, Unfortunately I had pick 1 and then 20, 21. Dez, of course went about 15. I got Marshall at 20th. Last week I offered Marshall and Mendenhall for him- rejected. I then came back with Marshall and DEangelo Williams - rejected. I even threw in some more to make it in heavy favor of the other guy. I didnt care , I wanted Dez. Still got nothing. Today , low and behold, the guy offers me Dez for Marshall straight up. Now the season may go on and Marshall may end up outscoring Dez. Thats not my concern. Im just feeling a little bad that I offered so much a week ago and the guy didnt accept and now is offering him for much less. This may all blow up in my face and Dez get hurt and truthfully it is a pretty close trade I think anyway, but fantasy players know 4 for 22 yds isnt going to happen very much with Dez. Does anyone feel Im possibly taking advantage of a very desparate fantasy player that got slaughtered week 1

Could have been you that was desperate after week one. You take what you can get and Dez for Marshall is not bad for either side. sounds like you are both happy which makes for a good deal.

Well.... a while ago I had a trivia question about WR having weeks with single-digit scoring last season. It's not an even keel for WR throughout the season. Of the more elite WR, here's the sad reality:

Calvin, Green & Demaryius (tied) = all had 5 games (fewest) with single-digits.
Marshall & Bryant = 6 (ironic, isn't it?)
Julio = 7
White & VJax = 8 (that's half an NFL season!)

It's feast or famine with WR.

Well.... a while ago I had a trivia question about WR having weeks with single-digit scoring last season. It's not an even keel for WR throughout the season. Of the more elite WR, here's the sad reality:

Calvin, Green & Demaryius (tied) = all had 5 games (fewest) with single-digits.
Marshall & Bryant = 6 (ironic, isn't it?)
Julio = 7
White & VJax = 8 (that's half an NFL season!)

It's feast or famine with WR.

I would have never expected Thomas.

I know about Dez's injury. I know all about Marshall and Cutler. Im a huge Cowboys fan for 1. My personal rankings before week 1 were 1. Calvin 2. Dez 3. AJ and all 3 of them fairly equal. My next tier I had Marshall as the first guy. Biased maybe but I see 1500 and 15 out of Dez- if Romo is healthy. I actually see Witten falling off some. Marshall , on the other hand, has Jeffrey coming on a little. Now Tressman could make a difference and allow Marshall more opportunities. Honestly , I think they will finish with around the same numbers. If one were to blow up though- I would lean toward Dez

The reason I feel bad is this guy is a new owner in a 40 team league. 40 teams split in 4 divisions. Lots of cash available. Why didnt he come back with the same offer I gave him last week?? I would have done it more than likely.

Player values fluctuate all the time based on the latest news. Last week, Dez was more valuable than Marshall because Marshall was the one with health questions. Right now, there is no doubt that Marshall is more valuable. This is a good trade and a win-win for both owners.

Last week Marshall was an injury concern. This week the tables have turned. Dez Bryant is an injury concern. There was speculation he had a LesFranc injury, which LeVeon Bell is out for a month with.

I over reacted myself. After a bad week one, even though I won thanks to P. Manning and Vernon Davis, I put Dez and Spiller on the trading block. I got offered V. Cruz and D. Wilson for Dez and decided to keep him. I accepted an offer of Ray Rice for Spiller though. Did i bail too early on spiller??

I don't think now is the time to panic and sell low, but you didn't do that. Rice is a first round pick in his own right. He does not have as high a ceiling as Spiller, but he is definitely safer. You already have a lot of explosive upside, so it is a good idea to go with the safe option at RB.

I think Rice/Spiller is a fair trade for you, but I also would have jumped at Wilson and Cruz for Dez. I just keep waiting for Dez to snap and do something really, really stupid. Just my opinion.

Man, I keep thinking about rekindling that trade offer... It seems like Romo is looking for Austin and Witten more often than not and Cruz will continue to be Eli's favorite target
