The league is reviewing the hit on Kaepernick which may end up as a possible suspension for Matthews. While I do not condone his obvious lack of judgement and have condemned his actions, how the fuck is suspending him just when all Suh gets is a fine???

Truth is stranger than fiction

I hate all of the personal foul penalties that are occurring but Matthews had maybe the worst one Ive seen in awhile. Goldilocks probably should get hit pretty big with something if they want to keep their flag football theme going

Next time tell him not to brag about how was going hit Kaepernick on sunday and then lie about leaving his feet before Kap was out of bounds.

Suh's shouldn't have been a penalty, let alone a fine or suspension. Matthew's was much much worse.

Might happen because it certainly appeared premeditated. It was no secret the Pack were hoping to put a lick on Kap...and who was most likely to do that...Mathews...it was just foolish that he had to choose the wrong time to do it.

So Collin is now going to be the NFL's new golden boy....I hear by dub the rule for hitting a player out of bounds as "The Crying-49er rule".

Premeditated? as in he decided in that moment he was going to hit the qb, yes, as in he decided he was going to hit him out of bounds at some point in the game while he was eating dinner on a Wednesday night? Hardly.

Remember the situation, he was running for a first down and had he decided to put his head down and try for it he would have been a lot closer and maybe gotten it. In that moment he took one more jab step upfield and then decided to step out. I think Clay made the decision that, I can still hit him and launched. If he hadn't decided to step out, clay launching would probably would have prevented a first down. against a qb like that, I'd be thinking with that mentality too, or he eats you up for 200 yds rushing again.

Clearly it was a poor decision and he admitted as much. If you've ever watched him play, he's anything but dirty. He'll probably get a fine, I think a suspension would be idiotic. It wasn't even that hard of a hit. Another step and lowering his shoulder into his head would be a suspendible action I think.

A suspension would definitely be stupid.. But I wouldn't put anything past Goodell.

No way he gets suspended, he should receive a small fine though. He left his feet to turn his body into a weapon I believe is much more the issue than him hitting Kap while he was getting some gatoraid.

Good. His hit was 100000000 x worse than Suh's block. About time the league stopped babying the Packers.

Suspension for that play is very much an overreaction, in my opinion. Then again, the league has become increasingly interested in keeping QBs healthy, so it's not too surprising. Doubt that same play against a RB would have drawn a suspension.

premeditated as in he bragged about how he was going to be hitting Kaep as much as possible in the media before the game, then committed a cheap shot. The veiled threat through the media was certainly there, and it drew a response from Harbaugh.

If you watch the video Kaep is angling toward out of bounds, and CLEARLY two or three feet out of bounds when Mathews leaves his feet. I know slow motion makes it look easy and changing your momentum isn't as easy at it looks, but he clearly left his feet late and clearly hit Kaep across the upper chest/neck area and slammed him down out of bounds...

I really don't know why GB fans are in a tizzy over this... mathews fucked up. Take the punishment our repercussions like a man.

And personally, I don't think Mathews should be suspended for that. Thats a bit too much. Although for slapping Staley? Maybe.

If he does get suspended will probably be more for his Slapticuffs after the play. The hit was bad enough, then he added too it.

For the record, Matthew's hit shouldn't be a suspension either. But suh's shouldn't be a flag.

The only thing Matthews mentioned as to hitting Kappernick was that it was legal to hit him during read-option plays when he was faking the run, and the game plan was to hit Kappernick as often as possible in this scenario.

No one here is arguing that the hit on Kappernick wasn't late. Just that it wasn't premeditated, and it wasn't as vicious as some 49ers fans are saying. Matthews didn't have to move his arm down from Kappernicks neck down to us upper chest (but he did), and he could have slammed him down on the ground ten times harder than what he actually did. Matthews simply let his momentum carry Kappernick to the ground at the same velocity Matthews went to the ground. And Kappernick only had one foot out of bounds before the hit. Heck, they said Matthews and Kappernick were even joking about it at a later time of the game.

Matthews should get fined but not suspended, as he his not a habitual offender like Suh. It was a heat of the moment thing. Suh should get suspended because he is a habitual offender and has already been suspended for illegal play.
