What is more important when choosing your sleepers: opportunity or talent.

My biggest sleeper is marlon brown of the ravens. I see him to get the opportunity to become a legit fantasy WR. He is behind Jacoby jones and Brandon stokely, I don't see either of them holding off a 22 year old who is 6'5

Obviously you want both. But a guy with a lot of talent that needs an injury to see the field is just as likely to crack your starting lineup as a mediocre guy who crawls up a bad depth chart, and will do more for you when he gets there.

Another question to consider is where is your team weak? Or do are you one of those owners that loves to "collect" RB?

The answers may be more telling as to the sleeper you'd want to take a chance on.

I think talent is more important, but it sometimes take time for that guy to really make it.

If you're looking for someone in the short term, then go with opportunity. Over the long run, the cream will eventually rise to the top, so you take talent if you're thinking long-term.

Good point. They need to be talented true but look at TurnerBurner behind LT, Tate behind Foster,Aaron Rodgers etc.

Well, I like to go more for the overall offense the guy is in..like a Thompkins or Dobson, Terrence Wilkins or Broyles

Even a talented guy that gets his opportunity might not be worth a lesser talented player who plays third fiddle on an explosive team.
The #2 WR on the Ravens, with only Torrey Smith on the other side, doesn't ring my bell all that much.

But if all else fails, I'll go talent all day long if I have too. wouldn't be the first time some tool gets handed a #1 (or 2) job only because he was the last man standing, doesn't mean he's worthy of being in a lineup

I'm in a dynasty league where we keep several players. I held onto Micahel Turner for 2 years just waiting on him to get traded to another team. I didn't like the lack of opportunity he had behind LT, but I loved his talent. It eventually worked out well when he went to the Falcons and became a top 5 RB. Now, I'm doing the same thing with Ben Tate for the same reason, who is in his contract year.

A decent player in a great opportunity is still just going to put up decent numbers. I'll take talent.
