Agreed. I know there's lots of people that got upset on both sides from that "it's not a rivalry" piece some bloggers did but the general premise was right. It's not that big of a deal and it just seems like certain people want to force it to become one. They're a nice program on the rise. But we've played them enough for awhile. And I'm not just saying that cause they beat us. We could win every game against them and it'd be highly competitive but I just think its time to move on.

hokiesports no longer shows the UNC-Charlotte game in 2019, so that answers that question.

As things currently stand, between 2018 and 2021 we have 3 years with 7 home games and one with only 5. Expect some shuffling.

I like the idea as well. It certainly allows for more variation in partners, but I'd rather have Miami or Clemson and Virginia as "every year" opponents, and drop Boston College.

Disregarding the fact that the NCAA hasn't and doesn't intend to approve Championship games without divisions, we do need more games against Clemson and Florida State. Few people realize that Virginia Tech has played Florida State and Clemson significantly more often than Pitt and BC in our history. This is true in more than just football. Virginia Tech was not really a "Big East" team any more than Louisville was.

I still maintain that a more frequent Clemson-VT rotation and/or Charlotte series would be really good for the conference. Perhaps the largest unrealized yearly matchup potential in the ACC, long term.

I agree, but VT certainly hasn't made a good case for that, either this year or the last few times they faced each other.
