Individual's prowess =/= team success.

Your LBs can be great against the run and make plays near the LOS when given the opportunity to make a play on a RB (Like Ware does), but if your d-line gets gashed the overall team's run defense wont be great. FB 101.

This is really a pointless conversation. Anyone that watches the cowboys (how do you not? they're on every week) knows how complete of a player Ware is. Me thinks you just got caught talking out your ass by saying he's not good against the run, because he certainly is.

I would suggest in your lust to troll everything I post you got caught not comprehending what I said. I never said he wasn't good against the run. I said Harrison plays the run, rushes the passer, and plays pass coverage and does all three better than Ware.(except maybe rush the passer) I also think Harrison is more of a intimatator than Ware. (which is the topic) As for watching the boys I watch them plenty. In fact last game we saw Ware in that meant anything we watched a one legged QB make him look silly in run defense. And he did it over and over and over again.

"Ware really is a one trick pony." - This was the false statement that I've been talking about.

Oh please, RG3 is so full of crap.

The scariest NFL opponent against RG3 is the field that RG3 plays on.

It's not a false statement it's a statement. He rushes the passer better than he plays the run or the pass caverage. And when talking in terms of Harrison and comparing the two. Harrison plays all three equally well. Which leads to the statement of being a one trick pony. But again that's not saying Ware stinks, Ware can't play the run etc. He's not nearly as good against the run as he is at rushing the passer. I mean I guess you can things out of context and make it mean whatever you want.

It's a false statement because Ware is one of the best run defenders at his position. Maybe you dont know what a one trick pony is?

Either that or I just don't buy what ESPN and some reporters try and sell? And quite frankly I have watched him enough to see he is nowhere near as good in run defense as he is as a pass rusher. It's like when the media was telling anybody who was dumb enough to listen Namdi A. was a elite shut down corner. When simple fact is and was he never was.

He is great against the run. One of the best at his position.

Being a one trick pony means that he is only good at one thing.

You were wrong.

Let's put "scariest" into context. Harrison is a full on whack job and would scare the absolute crap out of me upon any chance encounter. On the football field though, there is no comparison. This is why one is in the middle of a 7yr / $78mil contract and the other just signed with one of only a very few teams interested in him for 2yrs / $4.5mil with only $1.2mil guaranteed.

Again one plays for a owner who is notorious for over paying players. The other played for a team that is notorious for not. He is also comming off both knee and back surgery which isn't going to have team lining up for your services. But when talking scariest Harrison, Suh, etc, trump Ware. And it's really no debate.

That's great. You do realize that the team you actually root for didn't want him either...right??? They had no interest in giving him $2mil guaranteed? BTW...the Bengals simply signed him for his market value. They don't actually set the market for all players. He signed with the Bengals because that was the best deal out there. He didn't just choose to be under-paid because he likes tiger stripes.

Looks like some just won this thread with a reverse, in yo face jam.

Hardly again I don't need some BSPN reporter trying to sell me a load of crap. Because I watch him play and it's plain to see. Ware rushes the passer 90% of the time that's his job and he does that very well, maybe none better right now. Run defense not so much. Here have a look.

Video breakdown: The Eagles exploited DeMarcus Ware in the run game ? Blogging the bEast

Yeah that's pretty typical of his run play.

Actually the Steelers wanted Harrison back, they wanted to restructure his deal and he wouldn't. So they moved on. Not sure what how you think I thought the Bengals set market value for players but ok? Yes I know he signed for less money because of a lack of interest. That interest is due to age, and injury issues. But again salary has nothing to do with being scary which is the topic. If that was the case P.Manning would be one scary S.O.B. don't you think?

Wow, one whole game? So impressed.... If Its so typical I'm sure you can find a lot more reports like that. I'll wait.....

And I like how you dismiss FOO as media drivel, but lean on some blog to prove your false point.

What is your criteria for being scary? I may want to throw Suggs' name into the mix.

So isn't it plausible for a quarterback to say the scariest guy to face is the guy that is the best at getting to the quarterback? Regardless of how he is in coverage or if he can stop the run he gets at the quarterback. That should be scary for a quarterback no? RG3 didn't say Demarcus Ware is the absolute most complete player in the league.

And I have no problem with Suggs being there. Again my point is clear it's just not Ware.

I agree. But I would much rather have Ware getting to me than say Suh, Suggs, Harrison, etc.........and that's the point.

I don't care if your impressed or not. You give me a reporters take which has really no explanation on how he scores anything. Just his interpretation of run defense. I provided video for you to make your own assumption. And it's not just one game somebody else posted him in run defense in the skins game on page one. YouTube has shortage of videos out there. I base my opinions on what I see, you go by what you read. I get it.
