As far as I can tell we have 6 on the roster as of now. Is that normal for this time of year? I dont know it seems like we should have 7 or 8 just to get through the preseason. I mean I really dont care to see Carr , Scandrick really play too much if any. Mo might could use the experience. He seems to be struggling in TC but then again he is matching up against Dez everyday. That leaves Moore , Underwood, and Webb. I think Moore and Webb are locks , but do we really want them to play 3 quarters every preseason game. Webb probably yes

Howdy Romotoowens,

Hard to say who sticks but the next 2 to 3 will give us more to discuss towards all that. I think this game is all about 3's & 4's but starting in Oakland you gotta play your starters the standard amount and not fear the injury bug. Injuries will happen and beside the redskins fan, I don't see concerns other than we lost Crawford as a B/U end. Players have to have the time at full speed to be ready for the season.

I think I'm keeping Romo in my keeper league, he costs me a 5th.
Whata ya think?

I think we are going to see a lot of emphasis put on the running game especially early this year. I think his yardage numbers will fall off some, hopefully quite a bit. 25 to 30 TDs though should be a given barring injury. He is definitely still a top 10 fantasy qb, even with the running QBs. You could do a lot worse fantasy wise. The thing with Romo is he is pretty consistent. I had Cam last year and it was a rollercoaster. He could win some weeks by himself almost and then other weeks nothing.

I agree.
I also think a running game increases his fantasy value....strange but true

I agree with you.
You figure last year we pretty much couldnt do anything in the red zone. Most of our scores came from beyond the 20.
If the running game works better.... and they let up on Dez Austin or Witten to defend the run that number goes up ...

Now if they fix the running game (which to me is running in the red zone) The difference I think that makes is less turnovers and more TDs instead of FGs

Too many times over the past few years I have seen a 70 yd TD drive turn into 90 yards of offense. What I mean by that is a false start , a sack, and a holding call in which the offense had to overcome. I understand its hard to go 12 plays clean, meaning 0 negative things happening- penalties, sacks, turnovers, losses, etc.- but it just seems we make it so challenging and end up with that FG instead of 7.

shit we do that inside our own 50.... don't need to be in the redzone for that

different deal this year romotoowens till it's proven not to be. Can't wait for some football.

“I just know that it was fun to hear Parcell's describe the locker room,” Lee said. “I thought that was pretty appropriate. It was fun to see a guy that had that much success describe it like that point. It was awesome to hear.”

Lee's Ready!.....Love Sean Lee

If you come into camp knowing you have 4 locks at CB you only need to bring in 6. Webb needs all the playing time he can get, as with Scandrick, and Mo. Scandrick being injured last year and needs to get into a lot of PT during preseason in my opinion. I like the idea of only having 6 CB's that gives us the ability to carry over more players at positions of need such as DL and OL. However we actually have 9 CB's on the roster as of now, I think as of now we keep:

2QB (Romo, Orton)
4RB (Murray, Dunbar, Tanner, Randle)
5WR (Dez, Miles, Williams, Harris, Beasley)
4TE (Witten, Hanna, Escobar, Rosario/Smith idk which of those two makes it)
9OL (Smith, Leary, Frederick, Mac B, Free, Livings, Cook, Costa, Parnell)(Side thought if we sign Waters than he makes the team over Cook considering the release of Cook would save us a little over 1MM this season)
8DL (Ware, Spencer, Rat, Hatcher, Selvie, Bass, Lissy, Wilber)
8LB (Lee, Carter, Durant, Albright, McGee, Sims, Holloman, Reed)
5DB (Carr, Mo, Scandrick, Webb, Moore)
5S (Church, Johnson, Allen, Wilcox, McCray)
1K (Dan)
1P (Chris)
1LS (LP)

Love the list and agree with what you have. Im sure we all have certain bubble players we are hoping for. If any mine would be Armstrong, but 6 WRs is a lot and I dont see a crack in the other 5- especially since Harris is our primary PR.

Lets just say a big body like Brent gets cut . Of those 8 we are assuming make it off the DL- which DL do you think would be cut IF the team were to get him.

There are numerous variables here, if those are the players we carry and Waters does not get signed, I say Cook would be the one cut in that instance due to the fact you can save a little over 1MM by doing so, and the fact that you would have both Costa and Mac B who could play C and G and Livings who could play G, so you are going into the season heavy there.

Also I like Reed on tape a lot, and probably more than most do, so I believe he could be cut, as we would be going into the season deep at LB with the list I have.

it's a little early to be picky but I don't see 8 Lb's in a 4-3 but I'm sure there will be an injury or two that settles these final spots.

Romo/owens makes a good point about Armstrong. I hear he's catching everything in camp....something he didn't always do in Washington, but the man has return skills/ no question about that

it will be interesting

With the injury does Johnson make the team, I think if his ship hasn't sailed he should at least be on the bubble. I,d rather see Green or Lawrence make the team.

wouldn't that be 10 DBs not 5? :heh:
Seriously though I think we only keep 9 DBs. One of them will be a CB/S hybrid that can play either. probably add a 6th WR.

Don't see why we decided to keep Moore. Other than being a vet what has he done? Some team has to be cutting a corner who could help this team.

I can agree with that and as I pointed out Reed was a I want him on this team pick, but probably doesn't really make the team pick, I could see him and Cook not making it, with Armstrong and another DL or possibly Waters being signed.

I don't think so, they love this kid and will give him at least this season to prove it, btw out of those three which do you think has the chance to make and stay on a Practice Squad? Johnson is least likely in my book, have to take that into consideration as well.
