good deal.. I guess.

And no Im not upset. Glad we got the plan B. But IM not big on one year stop gap guys. They serve a purpose in the short term, but Barnett to me is like a condom at this point, there if you need him, but next year you need a new one.

i dont mind stop gapping a position . are we not doing that at RT ? we are getting an experienced back up ILB to compete with some youngsters

if he beats them out then he plays , if not then he will be gone

Better solution than Mays. Feel a bit better about our depth at ilb this year.

We will simply have to agree to disagree. Cause something tells me you are looking at simply this year. Where as Im looking at both this year and the two behind it. For this year, I agree Barnett is the better short term option, but long term I think we would have been better off with Mays learning from LFB and not being forced to commit two players to the spot next season.

Yes, something is telling you exactly that... Me. Any move done in July and August isn't going to be made with the future past this year in mind. If you'd rather have a done nothing 28 year old player over a proven player... More power to you. Either way the needed to address it. And I'm glad it was with Barnett. Worry about long term when we have more resources and better options.

reality is, neither of these guys should make an impact. I would rather have the 28 year old because if he only counts as depth, it means we arent looking for two ILBs next year. Barnett is a one year rental. He was the second option for a reason. And likely the reason is that the guys making the decisions are not quite as short sighted any more.

Also just going to throw this out there. You do realize Barnett was the best ILB on the WORST rushing defense in the league based on rushing scores given up. And second worse on yards given up. He had alot of tackles, but thats because his defense really couldnt stop any one on the ground.

Barnett has a better chance of making an impact or not being a liability if he's forced into action if there's an injury this year compared to Mays, and that's all I care about at this juncture.
