What roadblocks? Is there a fat Laker girl or something? :becky:

Haha, earlier I think I mentioned them.

You have Kobe in a wheel chair and wants the team to be his. This seems to be possibly resolved.

The bigger roadblock is Short Buss making your decisions. All the money in the world doesn't mean you are paying the right pieces or that you even acquired the pieces, be it players and clearly not coaches.

Oh, THOSE roadblocks!! On Kobe, it depends on Kobe!! His contract is up next season and I don't see the Lakers signing him for anything close to what he's been making and if he wants too much, I think they let him walk!!

Only time will tell if he is willing to start taking a lesser role!!

As far as Short Buss, I learned yesterday that there is an available option that if Short Buss messes up too much, he can essentially be forced out with Jeannie (and therefore, Phil) taking control of the franchise!!

It didn't catch all of what was said, but apparently Jeannie is actually in charge of the organization as a whole and has final say on pretty much everything. Short Buss is in charge of the basketball side which was what Dr. Buss wanted, but if necessary Jeannie could force her brother out as she apparently has final say over the organization.

The source was the Laker reporter from the OC Register, Kevin Ding who is usually pretty accurate!!

Just change your favorite team to the Heat Doors, I never see you talking about the Knicks anyway.

Check the first page, brah

Plus I talked plenty about them during the playoffs. You probably didn't see it with Kobe's pubes blocking your view.

I don't blame you for bandwagoning Doors, Carmelo gets spanked year in year out.

It looks like the Rockets are entering discussion with Josh Smith.

That would make for an interesting big 3. Chemistry could be an issue, but if the Rockets were able to get them all and keep guys like Chandler Parsons, they would be a force to be reckoned with. Surely they would need to move Lin and Asik to make this work.

Anybody the specifics of what the Rockets would need to do to make this possible?

Moving Asik probably wouldnt be a problem as he is big. 10 points 11.7 boards. double double.. his deal is a back loaded 25 million dollar deal. cap hits of 8+ million every year. 7 footer though.. they would find somewhere for him.

Lin's contract is similar a 3 year 25 million deal. 5 in 2013, 5 in 2014, 15 million in 2015. his stats this year were 13 pts 6asts 3turns. Both these deals were the 'posion pill' type deals.

errrrr, she fucking up then. How many coaches does she have to let Short Buss hire and fire before she does the right thing?

Imagine this, PJ is over there just keeping his mouth shut "Baby, do what you feel is right"

"Phil that isn't helping, he is my fucking brother, with out this gig he would be unemployed robbing dumpsters with that douche bag Chaz for fucks sake!!"

"...and I am just saying I will support you no matter what you choose"

Do we really think she would hire PJ as GM? We know he is a GOAT coach and I have to assume he can GM the pants off most right? Hiring PJ as GM and firing after firing your brother is Jerry Buss type win shit, if Jeanie does that I think we know the talent only missed half this generation and I will be hard pressed not to root for the Lakers, even with Kobe on the roster.

I rely on you for that but if it involves trading Lin then win win for Rockets, except I agree with the probable chemistry issues.

I agree that Asik will be easy to move. They may have to package the 2 together just to get somebody to take Lin. That near max $ for 1 year in 2015 for a very average guard is tough to swallow.

Maybe they could get a young, inexpensive PG and a pick from a poorly managed team who thinks they can win now. Vasquez and 2nd rounder from the Pelicans? They still have 2014 cap room even if they land Tyreke, although this would sting in 2015.

I cant really see any takers for Lin right now unless its an area with a large Asian population like GSW for example. Those poison pill contracts suck for everyone involved except the player especially if the player is just run of the mill.

There you go.

3 team deal.

GS gets Lin and Asik

somebody else takes Bogut's expiring contract

Houston gets like a top 7 protected 2014 1st round pick.

Win, win win if they can find the right 3rd team. It would have to be somebody who thinks they are close and who needs a big. Wizards maybe?

GS needs Bogut, but he just can't stay healthy.

Supposedly S&T with the Hawks is in the works if Dwight comes. I would prefer to package Lin into it and either take Teague as well or that 1st rounder from Germany.

Whoever has Lin will be a money making machine, so I'm not real sure how hard it will be to move him, but it will definitely be harder to move him than Asik.

Been hearing about possibilities of shipping Asik off to Portland as well. Only way I would actually want that to happen is by receiving Aldridge or Lillard. Neither of which is likely.

Would be amazed if Parsons doesn't get extended when the time comes. Fan favorite, great third option and I'm pretty sure he is the captain.

I really don't know what the exact cap situation is in Houston, but Howard, Smith and Harden are 3 max players (or close to it). No way they could get a player back in exchange for Asik unless it was someone on a rookie type deal, since the reason for moving him would be to shed $. Maybe they can get somebody on a cheap rookie contract, but I don't see the Blazers parting with Lillard.

Parsons is a really good role player. Rockets need to keep him for sure.
