When the software is upgraded? I thought that is what just happened or do you mean upgraded again?
I'll be sure to use Forum Runner app, although I really don't have any problems visiting and posting on this site with my phone now.

Phase 1 was moving the site software to a new server. That was done because it was previously on the old owner's server, and it was straining his bandwidth with the new users SportsHoopla has gained. Phase 2 will be upgrading the software to the newest version of vbulletin. After that, some new features that are available will be added.

WizardHawk I was mucho impressed with the info you provided on the migration.

"I would suspect a local issue with your ISP/Host. On the system I can't reach your site on the tracert ends at 206.51.235.229 (a hivelocity router in Tampa) and on the system I can reach it also routes through Tampa on a different hivelocity trunk. 206.51.253.213 and reaches its destination.

I traced a few routes and the dead end is always in tampa on the hivelocity network.

Don't know if that helps you any, but that's what I'm seeing. "

Sounds like someone who knows his way servers,computers and such. About four or five years ago I was one of those that would say "I don't need no stinking computer" since then I bought my first one ( The wife twisted my arm ) and its been no looking back. I've been trying to educate myself as much as possible. I was surprised how many of co workers,friends and family members that I though knew there way around computers really didn't.

Well, it appears that we're going to hold off on the upgrade for a while. I actually think that's a good thing, as the sites I've seen with the new version are a little clunky and slow. As far as customizing the forum, you could go ahead and do that, if one of you knew how to design a banner. The guy we regularly have do that has a broken computer right now, but we may be able to get someone else. We could also change the background color of the forum. So let me put the questions to you:

Do you have a special name you'd like to give the place? Say 'Hawk's Lair @ SportsHoopla' or '12th man @ SportsHoopla' (we would include the team name, too. Any players, or logos, etc that you would like to appear on the banner?

I'm a system administrator for a company with 5 locations and two corporate offices. Finding communications problems is all part of a days work. HD said my info led him right to the problem so I was glad to help those who were having issues.

There are plenty of people who don't know much more than how to turn on their machine and start up programs when things are running normally. Don't feel bad. The dangerous ones are the ones who think they know their way around and try to fix things themselves and end up causing a lot more problems. Those are my problem children, not the novices.

I have lots of experience building and managing sites, but I'm not big on doing graphics. I'd advise finding someone with some artistic ability. I mean I can hack together a banner, but it's not really what I'm strong at. I'm more of a coding kind of guy.

As for names for the site there is the obvious one 'Hawk's Nest' or we could pwn the nickname we don't like and say we are the 'seadderall chatter-alls'.

First time I've seen the steelers board. I like the color in your case. I'd hold off on ours until they finish the site update and we see what the basic layout looks like, but blue/green is always a good color combo and should be easy to pull off.

Why hold off? These updates take time so who knows how long it will be. If we end up losing our look, well the second time around should turn out better. Didn't you suggest that we needed a banner? Of course the big problem is finding some one who can actual do it. I've been looking at sites like My Banner.com looks like a banner could be done on that site and I'm checking with people I know that actual have a website for there business.

Finding a member that has artistic ability would be great, but does anyone on this board have that ability? We may just have to give it the old college try.

The new update was scheduled to already be done, but the server move wasn't without hickups and HD wants that phase smoothed out before he looks at the back end upgrade. Still he said it could be done within a few days from now.

Sure, the colors could be done now. I just figured they probably had more on their hands with this update and waiting to see how it turns out might be better for them?

Settle on a name and then maybe we can all try our hand at a banner and see what we like. Need the name first so we can add to the banner.

My vote would be for Hawksnest, I like the sound of that. I think 12th man's been used enough as it is, this would make us unique. Well that's my 2 cents.

And the texas A&M folks always get their panties in a bunch over the use of the 12th man. Out of an interest in not creating more drama than needed, I'd vote for anything but that.

Screw those A&M folks , they been paid to shut there mouths. I'll go with what ever the board votes for but I like a motto that points out the impact that the fans make on the home field. I like a motto that says..we are real Seahawks fans and we matter!

Now the Hawksnest isn't a bad name but Mmmm lets just say they got a bit of a rep for fans that get a tad bit out of control. OK ...that doesn't sound all that bad..I may just have to reconsider.

I'm hoping some one creative can come up something more unique.
