Saying we left for the money is completely absurd.

We left because the writing was on the wall at that point that the Big 12 was falling apart.

OU and Texas were shopping themselves to other conferences, all the while in the same breath giving Nebraska ultimatums about staying.

They could not and WOULD NOT guarantee that they would stay in the Big 12.

Nebraska's existence as a major CFB program was in jeopardy. The B1G saw this as an opportunity and offered them a spot. The B1G is a better fit from a geographical and cultural standpoint.

The money doesn't hurt, but that is not the reason Nebraska left.

That is the biggest line of bullshit I heard throughout the whole process.

I have this psycho ex-girlfriend. She goes by the name Dan. We had some good times...even moved in together. Well, we got in this huge fight last winter. It was ugly. We tried to make it work for a few months, but we broke it off this summer. But we're stuck in a lease for a few more months. Suffice to say - it's really awkward. It doesn't help that she's gone all psycho on me. Seriously, I can't do anything right. Can't catch a single break. So this is my plea - honey, we're stuck in this together. Can't we at least play fair for just a little bit longer?

Seriously Dan, it's embarrassing for me to air our dirty laundry like this. But, your recent behavior has left me little choice. Things have gotten out of hand.

Look… I'm sorry that my lease on the new place doesn't happen until next year. I don't like sleeping on the couch any more than you like having me here. It's weird for everyone, especially when you have friends over for a party. But, seriously, I paid my part of the rent and utilities. I even clean up and take out the trash. I know the fight last December was really ugly. I said some pretty terrible things. Maybe you didn't deserve all that. But, I really felt like you were trying to screw me back then. Turns out I was right.

Personally, I'd rather focus on the good times. Remember 1999? We had some laughs then. Sure, it wasn't perfect, but we respected each other. Yeah, I was a lot more fit back then. I was a boyfriend you could be proud of. I got a little fat back a few years ago. What can I say? I wasn't proud. But, I got fit again. Rockin' abs, really. We could have made it work. I would have made you proud again.

But, no! You totally were with that dude in the white shirt and burnt orange vest by then. You went all country club on me. I get it. I really do. But it didn't have to end like it did. And it sure doesn't have to be this ugly now.

About this summer, I'm sorry. I'm not sorry that it happened. But, I'm sorry it got to that point. It didn’t need to be that way. But how long did you expect me to sit around and watch you with those other guys before I started to look around? I mean...seriously. You can't really sit there with a straight face and say that I actually cheated on you. You were running around with all those guys from out west, anyway. Right? Right!??

I talked to Ralph, or Raphie, or whatever - your other ex. I don't like him. He's a douche. But he was right about one thing - you are a total psycho.

Look, I'm sorry we broke up. Okay? Our relationship had its good moments. But after your behavior last night, I'm sure as heck not sad to be leaving. Lighting my album collection on fire? That's over the line.

We can’t go back and un-do what has happened. But, we have to find a way to make this work for at least another few months. Can we find a way to co-exist? We have that big party coming up, and I really hope I can make it. But, I know you’ll be there. Please don’t go all psycho again. It isn’t fair to me and it is embarrassing for you. Can we find a way to get along. If not, at what point do I need to ask somebody to intervene?

Well Texas was a bit of a bully to Nebraska as well. At least we did let them win 1 single game in the entire history of the conference.

In fact they never won a single regular season game versus Texas.

It was essentially a bye-week for Texas.

Texas actually has a worse record versus Iowa State in league play than Nebraska.
