Valeri Kharlamov - Nice pull Matty, it took a shattered ankle via a Bobby Clarke two-hander to change the '72 Summit Series.

Tkachuk's easily in the top 3 hot dog eaters list.

Come on John, the camera adds 10 lbs...

Sorry, but I think his 6 Vezinas, 2 Harts, Stanley Cup, Olympic Gold and best ever career Sv% weigh a bit heavier than your personal dislike for him.

Guy was a total flake at times, but his on-ice performance was still incredible*.

*Offer not valid beyond April.

I used to wonder why the people of Buffalo worship the guy so much when he completely failed at the conclusion of the regular season. Harts, Vezinas and one cup on a team that a necktie could have backstopped to a championship. Outside the regular season he did nothing.

But then it hit me. His regular season performance is the closest they have ever been to seeing success. I would have really thought the way he just bailed after blowing up the morale would have made people realize what a shitstain of a person he was.

Talented shitstain, but a shitstain nonetheless.

I still don't see anything in your response that says he shouldn't be considered one of the top 3 Czech players of all time other than your personal dislike for him.

I'm not going to bother debating it though, because the statistics and awards make it pretty clear. Personal traits aside, the guy was a hell of a goaltender.

I wish Hasek would have quit just prior to the Nagano Olympics...

To be fair, the Sabres with Ryan Miller posted the most wins and points during the regular Season in their Franchise history, not Hasek.

Hasek at least got the team to the SCF.

lol, so the time he helped carry the Sabres to within 2 games of the Cup and a strong Olympic performane on the Czech team just get disregarded along with his other personal accolades because you don't like him? That team he did win a Cup on was also the same one that CuJo couldn't replicate.

To paraphrase Doc Holliday in Tombstone "That's what I love about 43, he can talk himself into anything"

This ^.

And I loathe Hasek.

Top 3 players ever from each of the hockey powers. I'm bored and feel like starting a list that can be debated. You decide the criteria.

Canada
Orr
Lemieux
Gretzky

USA
Modano
Lafontaine
Roenick
*Hull was technically Canadian

Russia
Tretiak
Larionov
Fetisov
*Honorable mention to Federov.

Sweden
Lidstrom
Forsberg
Lundqvist

Czech
Jagr
Hasek
Elias

Slovakia
P. Stastny (Peter, not Paul :))
Chara
Mikita

Finland
Selanne
Kiprusoff
Kurri

What I'd do above.
