he was brought up to experience the mlb drive to the playoffs. do you really think that they are going to bench experienced mlb-level players and play rookies now based on one game?

2 things:

1) he needs at bats for his development, if he's not going to get at bats leave him in AA so he can get his swings in. Olt has lost some valuable at bats because of this as well

2) ride the hot hand. the A's are on the rangers tail and if profar can get you an extra run today that could make the difference between a loss and a win. if profar starts to get overmatched then slow things down. the win is always more important

i'm not saying play him every day, but for him to only play once or twice a week is unacceptable. wash's comments have hinted towards profar playing very seldom.

Darvish has been nails since coming back after his scratched start. It seems his previous lack luster performance was simply a matter of him being tired.

Demps has no playoff experience and nowhere near the stuff Yu has. I'll take Yu all day long. Especially in the WS against a team that hasn't seen him.

I'll take numbers over stuff until Yu can prove he can cut down his walks. I'm watchin the KC feed and they're still talking about Yu pitching from the stretch. Hasn't he done that all year? Time to get over it people.

I agree that Olt has looked bad lately because he has been given so few chances so sporadically. When he first came up he was getting on base, working at bats, and driving in runs. Now he looks lost cause he never sees live pitching. Anybody else wanna argue that letting him rot on the bench won't affect his abilities and development?

I don't care how he pitches as long as he keeps this up. His starts this month will determine where he fits in the playoff rotation.

Harry, Demps, Yu, Dutch would be my order

i think that could change, if Yu finishes the season strong and is showing better control, he has a shot to be the game one starter because has swing and miss stuff which is very important in the playoffs imo.

I think Harry is our #1 period. He's been the best all year and him & Dutch are the only 2 with WS experience.

1) AA season is over. based on Olt's last few at-bats including his 1st today he is finding mlb pitching a little overwhelming. now fielding wise he and Moreland make a powerful pair of 1st baseman.

2) it is way too early based on 1 game to call Profar the hot hand .

He wasn't finding it overwhelming when he first came up. I can see how he might find it overwhelming after riding pine for two weeks though. I among others have been saying this would happen from the beginning though and now that it's happened the Wash and MY apologists out the blame on Olt for not being ready to face big league hitting after sitting on the bench for two weeks.

the reason for olt's slumping could be the fact that he gets 1 start a week. hard to stay in a rhythm with just batting practice. that's why there is an arizona fall league so these guys can get at bats.

as for profar, how do you know if he's a hot hand when he doesnt get a chance? im not saying profar should start everday, but he needs to be in the lineup at least 3 days a week, unless he is just giving at bats away. 2-4 with a homer and a double in your first game sure as hell could be the start to be considered a hot hand. we will never know though if he wastes on the bench 6 days a week

I'm willing to bet Profar would be more productive than MY for the rest of the year. Move Ian to LF, Murphy to DH, and MY to a nursing home.
