The following ten guys were not really on the Heisman radar (some were, but only as super dark horses). After this weekend, I think we have to at least consider them:

- Marqise Lee, USC
- T.J. Yeldon, Alabama
- James Wilder Jr., Florida State
- Andre Ellington, Clemson
- DeAndre Hopkins, Clemson
- Taylor Martinez, Nebraska
- Le'Veon Bell, Michigan State
- Johnathon Franklin, UCLA
- Tyler Tettleton, Ohio
- Stedman Bailey, West Virginia

So, are there any glaring omissions? Anybody on here who shouldn't be? All opinions are welcome.

There's a RB from Wisconsin who is not that bad. I doubt anyone has taken him seriously as a Heisman contender yet, but he has potential if the Wisco line ever shows up to play. I think his name is Da'Mont'ay Bawll or something like that.

...but yeah he will be back, so add Giovani Bernard:

91 yards on 10 carries rushing, three total touchdowns (one rush, one 70 yard PR, one catch) and he was out before the end of the first half.

He completely dominated. Has to be on this list. 16 players had 3 touchdowns this weekend, he did it before halftime.

You're more sold on UCLA and Ohio than UNC? Keep in mind UNC doesnt play Clemson or FSU

I can only base the response on players I saw. Le'Veon Bell looked unstoppable, or could Boise not tackle. Not sure which. Suspect a little of both. Tyler Tettleton looked like a pro QB, but his receivers also made some great catches. Not on national tv enough to win, but could be top 10 at season's end.

Question on E Lacy of Alabama. Did not see game. Wife dragged me out to a movie. Was he yanked for Yeldon or just pulled because of the rout?

I think Ohio could easily go 13-0 before the Heisman ceremony. I think UCLA and UNC will probably have similar records to one another, but the LA media connection gives Franklin the edge. Plus, Franklin did run for 125 more yards on only five more carries.

That makes a lot more sense than saying UNC is going to suck so Bernard isnt on the radar.

Agreed on Bell.

Marqise Lee looked as good if not better than last season as well.

I didn't see any of the other listed players play.

Putting Taylor Martinez into this conversation after week 1 already makes me really nervous............

Last time this happened everything went south in a quick hurry for Nebraska. Hopefully being a 4th year Junior and all, Taylor will handle it better this time around. He's a uniquely talented QB.
