Top 5 teams the AP Poll underrated most during BCS Era

1) Boise State - The Broncos started unranked and finished ranked 5 times. In 2002, they started unranked and were 15th in the final poll. In 2003, they finished 16th after starting out not ranked. In 2004, Boise State started unranked and finished 12th. In 2006, they started out unranked and finished 5th. In 2008, after starting unranked, they finished 11th. In 2008, Boise State started out 14th and finished 4th.

2) Iowa - The Hawkeyes started unranked to finishing ranked in 2 different seasons. In both 2002 and 2003, Iowa was unranked in preseason polls and was 8th in the final poll. In 2004, Iowa started off 19th and finished 8th. In 2009, Iowa started off ranked 22nd and finished off. Iowa is 1 of 2 teams that made 2 different Top 5 lists.

3) Washington State - I bet you weren't expecting them in the top 5 in one where they actually did good. Washington State started off unranked to finishing ranked in 2 seasons. In 2001, Washington State started unranked and finished ranked 10th. In 2003, they started off unranked and finished 9th.

4) TCU - The Horned Frogs started out unranked and finished ranked in 2 seasons. In 2005, TCU started out unranked and finished 11th. In 2008, they started unranked and finished 7th. In 2009, TCU were 17th in preseason and were 6th in the final poll.

5) Wisconsin - The Badgers started out unranked to being ranked in 2 different seasons. In 2005, Wisconsin started out unranked and finished 15th. In 2006, the Badgers started unranked and finished 7th. In 1998, they started 20th and finished 6th.

Washington State totally surprised me. I was a little surprised by Wisconsin. I always thought the seasons they did good, they were expected to.

Washington State has only finished ranked one other time in the BCS era, 2002 when they were ranked #11 and finished #10.

Yeah BSU has gradually been getting more respect.

It will really show if we get a top 20 ranking with all the players we lost after last year.
