Yeah... Great call Wash. Pull a dominant Harrison for a struggling Ogando :L

Hell of an escape job by Ogando. He damn near handed the game back to LA.

Umm, yeah. That was kind of my point. The Angels have done very little to win or earn the wins, meaning that the Rangers have done even less. The Angels aren't even playing well and yet the Rangers still aren't beating them. When an opposing team plays like crap and yet they still beat you, that's pretty much the definition of handing them wins on a silver platter (like many others on here have described).

Elvis sure is playing great this year. I hope he doesn't end up a Yankee.

Torrealba is crap. I'm sick of watching him stab at low pitches rather than moving his lazy ass to block them.

Know this relates to yesterday ... but you picked up on exactly the same thing I noticed back early last season.

Torrealba is not very agile behind the plate possessing terrible footwork. He is basically lazy and rather than move he tries to reach across his body to pick the ball with his glove for balls to the right side of the plate. No harm when there is nobody on ... but notice how many get by him. His PB on the high pitch by Yu showed how slow his reaction time is to a pitch that wasn't that far above the strike zone.

Know I have ranted about this before ... but it was his lack of agility in WS Game 3 when he failed to catch/block Napoli's throw to the plate because he was standing in the wrong place ... up the 3rd baseline rather than on the 1st base corner of the plate to make the force out.

In the play at the plate last night he set up in front of the plate rather than making sure his left foot blocked the plate. Cruz' throw was in plenty of time to make the play but since Torrealba was in front of the plate and hadn't blocked it ... that gave Trout the opening he needed to get his foot in before the tag. If you are positioned correctly and with the throw beating the runner ... the ump is going to call that an out almost automatically. McClellan knew Torrealba blew the set up and when you make it close because of a bad setup ... then you can't be surprised when the ump makes the call against you.

Torrealba is just a marginal backup catcher ... he's not known as a good game caller ... catchers TEX moved or did not resign including Teagarden, Treanor, and even Saltalamacchia are all better defensive catchers. I put him on the same level defensively as Max Ramirez.

Torrealba is going to be a free agent for 2013 ... and I suspect is going to have a tough time finding a job.

Glad to see him not in the lineup today ... he needs to get his one start a week ... hopefully he gets DFA'd and TEX recalls Luis Martinez... or even Dusty Brown! Neither of them are showboats that get thrown out of games ... good thing last night that Napoli was at 1b and not DH.

Another clever picture response, especially since it ironically applies to you. Why am I not surprised? Funny how no one else here seems to have a problem with me but you. And for some reason you take it upon yourself to try and pick apart my posts even though they aren't directed at you. I thought you said you would just ignore me like you apparently did on ESPN, yet here you are acting all disgusted with me again. How about you at least tell me what your user name was on ESPN so I can at least have an idea of who suddenly finds my posts so bad?

A much better effort today! No errors, solid pitching, and a monster HR to boot. If they can just convert more of those runners in scoring position, they'll be back to dominating and winning multiple consecutive series again.

TEX wins ... so why the extraordinarily depressing post? What a downer.

What are you talking about? Look at my post directly above yours. I was nothing but positive about today's game. My post about the Rangers playing sloppy was made after last night's game.

It seems pretty hypocritical that many people here make negative post after negative post and no one says a word to them, yet I make a few observations about ways in which the Rangers have been frustrating to watch and I get told to f off by a select poster.

By the way, I agree with you wholeheartedly about Torrealba. Some within the organization were actually in favor of trading Torrealba in the offseason and bringing back Pudge on a veteran minimum contract to serve as a backup to Napoli, but Torrealba is a Jon Daniels guy and that notion was quickly vetoed. I think even as a washed-up fossil Pudge would outperform YT.

You're being way to touching, Will. Your reasoning that LA played bad and we still lost is sort of cock eyed since it was Texas who was playing poorly. That's all I pointed out and somehow you turned that around to fit your point of view. Teams do not give wins away. How about this...LA scored more runs in the two games and won. Period. It happens. Not always, but sometimes the blame game gets sort of lame.
Not in tune with the hurd mentality of message boards so it doesn't matter much to me how many other posters are in agreement. It's a public forum subject to agreements and disagreements and sometimes the "little pictures", good or bad, save time.

Very simply LAA took advantage of TEX miscues in both games and won both while not having to be offensively dominating. The shame is that both Colby and Darvish pitched well enough to have won had it not been for the misplays.

On to OAK.

They should have swept LA. No getting around that.

It's fine to disagree, and I certainly don't claim to know everything. But posting a picture of a character shaking his head with his hand on his face in disbelief is a pretty condescending and arrogant way of saying you disagree with someone. It's basically like telling me I'm not smart enough and just don't get it. I'm pretty sure most people would take it that way too. Sorry if you feel I'm being too sensitive, but in general people don't respond favorably when talked down to like that.

As for my Angels playing poorly comment, my point remains valid. Neither team played well. The Rangers out hit the Angels and had numerous chances (some with the bases loaded) to cash in but didn't. That along with the numerous errors on simple everyday plays basically cost them both games 1 and 2. The Angels, outside of Mike Trout, did not hit well for the series, and their pitching had to constantly scuffle to get out of jams. They won because their mediocre play was outdone by the even worse gaffes and lack of clutch hitting of the Rangers. The Angels didn't do much to earn either win because quite frankly they didn't have to. That's all I was saying.

Rangers won Game 3 and looked like their old selves again, so let's just agree to disagree on this one and both agree that a sweep of Oakland sounds mighty nice.

Thanks for the welcome and heads up on the "interwebs". It should serve me well now that I'm well into my career as a web site designer.
