Many would say Rodgers was a bust of sorts due to the Jets record, but his individual stats really were quite decent. His 3,897 yards passing were good for 8th in the league, and his TD/INT was a respectable 28/11. If he has a disadvantage this year playing for the Steelers, it would be his receiving corps aren't as strong as they were with the Jets. And of course he's a year older, which doesn't exactly work in his favor.

Their offense rated 24th in the league last year. Their offense scored 25 or more points 3 times all of last year.

In their wins, he was really good. A 113 QB rating.
In their losses, he was really awful. A 81 QB rating.

And most of the reason they struggled was because of how immobile he is.

And all that was with a better WR corp and a better OL than he now has in Pitt. And then to top it off, the Jet's schedule last year was a cake walk to the schedule Pitt plays this year.

Thats prob about what they would do with Rudolph imo. He is 8-5-1 as a starter for the Steelers if Im looking at it right

How much of those wins are as a repeat starter though? I'm sure there's a lot of odd context to that record.

I guess my main point is that the Steelers have been working with bad QB play for awhile. Those final Big Ben years werent good, either.

I have to think Rodgers is a slight improvement over Rudolph. But the Steelers only have 1 proven strong WR and no proven RB1, so some guys will have to step up on O for them to continue their streak of winning seasons.
Jalen Warren should be RB1. On limited touches he's proven to be a solid lead back this season.

One proven whiney/pouty QB paired with one proven whiney/pouty WR. What could go wrong?

He prolly missing a good chunk of next season as he rehabs from that brutal injury.
I was hoping for a while that the Bears would ink him. But if he's not ready to go from day one, then I'm fine with him going elsewhere.

I think Chubb is done. 2 years in a row of massive injuries and he's going to be 30 in December.

I think Houston is taking him for playoff insurance, and that's about it. They drafted an RB in a fairly deep class, I don't see Chubb getting many carries until late in the season/playoffs. Houston's OL is also horrible lol.

He missed the entire 1st half of the season last year rehabbing. And then played the entire 2nd half of the season last year.

He wont miss anymore time without a new injury.

The question it is going to be how much explosion he can find again. Hopefully a full offseason helps him come back a little more dynamic. Last year he looked....pedestrian....at best.

It will be the rookie Kaleb Johnson. Was elite in outside zone runs in college, and that's what the Steelers run. Warren will remain the change of pace / 3rd down back.

Yeah I agree Johnson will likely emerge as the Steelers RB1, he was an impressive rusher at Iowa and should fit into the Steelers system good. There’s a good chance he’s an improvement from Najee IMO but you never know how a rookie will do.

on the flip side.
he has low mileage for 30 because of those injuries.
When he is healthy. He is a bad man! So "if" he comes back healthy. I'd bet on him. 30 or not.

Disagree. Hebert does shit for a run game. Has he ever won a playoff game? He’s one of the most overrated QBs in the league

Nope. Hurts > Purdy

What are we even doing here bro? Nix has accomplished anywhere near in the sport of football that Hurts has.

Mentioned them.

Dude hasn’t played a down

Dude hasn’t won a playoff game and actually regressed in year 2

Only about 5 or 6. Unless you don’t like winning. Unless you don’t like possessing the football and playing complimentary football. Unless you don’t like balance between run and pass.

Personally I like Hurts... think he is great competitor, makes good decisions and a winner. But he also benefits from playing behind one of the best offensive lines in football. If he played behind a poor OL his game would not translate as well in the NFL. That said... I still like him for the reasons I mentioned. Eagles know what they have and have built the team accordingly around him... kudos to the Eagles organization.

Personally book is still out on a few QBs I would potentially consider over Hurts including Williams, Herbert, Stroud, Love, Maye, Nix.... with Hurts already kind of see his ceiling, these QBs I could still see improving in next 1-3 years.

I would take Hurts over Herbert and Love for sure, I think Herbert and Love have been in the NFL long enough to know what they are like and I think Hurts is definitely better. Stroud and all of the guys drafted last year it’s too soon to tell, Stroud has been strong in his first two seasons even if he regressed a bit last year and he could become a top tier QB, and I think there’s a chance all of the 6 guys drafted in the first round last year become strong QBs.

I think if Hurts and Herbert switched teams, Herbert would look like the better QB. Its hard to knock Hurts for being so good on the Eagles, though.
