So, the New York Knicks are interested in Jason Kidd.....Should J Kidd be interested in the Knicks.....is it a better job than the Mavs?

Vote and most importantly, discuss......that part is kind of important.

To me, it's Dallas.

You have Irving (when he returns from his injury), AD, and a youngster in Cooper Flagg (assuming they select him and I think they will) who can learn and grow into the role as the hair apparent face of the franchise in a few years. He can develop and doesn't have to carry the weight of the franchise on his shoulders for a few years.....once Irving and AD retire.

The Mavs will go after some veterans in the offseason to round out the depth. Maybe, they make a minor trade.

Think Dallas will be really good next season.

I think it's Dallas as they still have room to build where New York will just be shuffling deck chairs.
But what it really comes down to is who will pay more and for how long. New York has a tax handicap in that regard as well.

I think before the lottery it would have been Knicks, but Lively, Davis, Flagg is a monster-sized front court that can be elite defense sooner rather than later.

I don't see Knicks path to improve their roster too much. I have been reading rumors that they may already be looking to get rid of KAT. At his salary I don't see how much it can be used to improve. If Knicks somehow turn KAT into Giannis or Durant then this poll answer changes.

I think it is Dallas by a lot.

If Flagg is as good as advertised, he could be the best 3rd option in the league when Kyrie gets healthy with room to be a lot more than that down the road. This is a second round playoff roster that just added an elite #1 overall pick.

Also, expectations are unrealistically high in NY. They do not have a championship caliber roster, but it appears that is what management expects.

I guess Dallas because they aren't owned by Dolan.

I've barely paid attention to roster moves so I can't base anything on that.

That is the important starting point. You can get into more details, but are they necessary?

Dallas' ownership did just trade Luka, so they're not exceedingly better. "Luck" got them the #1 pick to add a new huge piece though lol.

Considering the Knicks window of opportunity is still there, it would be NY for a vet coach

I am absolutely amazed that all of the buzz about Knick coaching targets are surrounding successful coaches already under contract by another team.

That is crazy to me.

Everything I am seeing is that it had nothing to do with performance and was all about Thibs’ relationships with non-Brunson players.

And I get that. Brunson was Thibs offense.

So maybe he had to go regardless.

Still a bad look though.

Rockets would have been crazy to approve Knicks interview of Udoka. Timberwolves less so to allow, but still smart call to deny.

Did the Knicks think other teams are going to fire headcoaches that had been key to the turnaround like they did?

Maybe not fire them, but be okay with them leaving?

Interestingly the one person that most of assumed would be top of their list to interview I haven’t seen linked to Knicks yet.

Mike Malone.

Yep, looks like the Knicks are going to manage to screw this up. They fire their coach and the only candidates they are showing interest in...are all under contract?

And, as you point out, have apparently shown no interest in an available coach with a recent title?

I always say...if you're going to fire your coach, you better have someone in mind to replace them and at least have a reasonable chance of getting them.

Havent seen it mentioned yet but people do realize that Kyrie very likely will never play another game for the Mav's right?

He just tore his ACL. He isnt going to play this coming season. And that is his final year of his contract in Dallas. At this time next year he will be a 34 year old coming off injury looking for a 6th man roll with a chance to win a ring.

Yep, they might be back to the same old Knicks.
