I've seen Ryan Tannehill play well with Henry and AJ Brown. Hurts is better than that but I might be with the consensus here are saying he is somewhere between 8th-12th best

That's where I put him as well. Although I agree Herbert is overrated the Chargers aren't benching Justin Herbert for Jalen Hurts. I stand by the postion that had he played in Arizona and not in as near a perfect situation you will ever find in the NFL he would be looked at differently.

You can say that about almost every QB not named Brady. Look at Aaron Rodgers on the Jets.

To be fair, at any given time I think there are 4-5 teams that would ruin anyone.

I think we've seen defenses dare other teams to run and the pendulum has swung back to the middle. QB will get you to the playoffs. From there I think depth on both sides of the ball matters too much to make things about QBs.

Its a real question, though. Eagles have the #1 oline, #1 defense, a top 10 WR, a top 20 WR, and the #1 RB.

Joe Burrow took the worst OL in the league, a roster so bad they had the first pick 2 seasons prior, to the Super Bowl. Jayden Daniels carried an average or below average roster to the NFC Championship Game. Do the Chiefs really have a roster good enough to be the dynasty they have been? That's what great QB play looks like.

I agree about the Chiefs, Mahomes has carried them, they’ve had good rosters overall but shaky receiving units in their last two Super Bowl wins, I mean in 2022 they won the Super Bowl, and Mahomes won NFL MVP, with JuJu Smith-Schuster as the leading WR, that’s just great QB play.

You gave three names here (really two but KC is Mahomes) and all 3 of them I called out as being situations where they would start their QB over Hurts. I’ll also point out that Hurts was 4-0 vs those QBs last year in games he started and finished.

No you said a good QB can not be productive on a bad team. Even going so far as to use 56 year old Aaron Rogers as your example.

I never said that. I said that all but the very best all time QBs will be situation dependent in terms of their success. I don’t understand why some QBs have this circumstance presented to knock them down while other QBs don’t get the same comments. QBs need a good OL, good run game, good supporting cast to be their best. I didn’t know I was saying anything controversial there.

Why would you be laughing at me when hardly anyone here agrees with you? Your bias is showing buddy where I have no agenda. As I said I used to root for the Browns because fans such as yourself deserve better.
You actually agree with me but just cannot get yourself to own it. You (and others not afraid to answer) admitted the teams who went after Watson did so thinking he'd be the guy he was in Houston or maybe even better. If that was the case would they not have been more than happy to pay out that deal (and maybe even more)? Cannot make trades in NFL thinking a guy in his prime might forget how to play the sport and/or guy who had never missed games due to injury since rookie season would suffer 2 major injuries.

do lean more toward what fightin has been saying in these discussions but that's more than a fair comment/analysisi.

This is just modern sports with social media. LeBron gets more hate than love despite being the best player of his generation. Guys get crucified for getting to the foul line and they call them free throw merchants. Hurts gets hate because the Eagles roster and organization is top notch.

Hurts gets hate because he's overhyped, especially by Eagles fans. That's normal, all fanbases do it.

How many of his TDs are due to the stool push? That's another point of contention.

In both instances, both rosters were full of veterans. Bengals had a lot of money tied up in their defense. Daniels season in particular is interesting because he won so many close games. With an average QB, they'd all be losses.

Do those TDs not count? Do we count one yard rushing TDs from Terrell Davis Walter Payton and other RBs?

Barkley beat the Rams not Hurts, he threw for 128 yards on 15 completions and 1 TD. Stafford threw for 300+ yards in the snow in a hostile environment. Rams even gave the Eagles 2 turnovers too.

I seem to remember Hurts opening the score with a 44 yard TD.

You take the rotting corpse of Matt Stafford and I’ll take Jalen Hurts
