About as good as the Knicks are doing against the Celtics! ;)

Genuinely sorry about Tatum though. I hope he pulls through ok.

It sucks. thunderc posted in two different threads that Tatum tore his achilles.

Seattle lost the Sonics because of financial disagreements and the fact Key Arena was slowly becoming unsuitable.

Since then they've built Climate Pledge which is one of the more modern arenas in the world.

Seattle deserves a team and the fans want it more than ever.
Oh, I'm well aware. I lived in Seattle and went to Key Arena.

Not happening they do fine in Portland. But supposedly Seattle and Las Vegas will get expansion teams soon

Silver needs to stop dragging his ass on this and get it done. First they said they were waiting for the media rights deal to be done. It got done. Then they said (well, not officially but reported on by people in the know) they were waiting on the sale of the Celtics so they could set the expansion fee. Well, they're sold. Everyone has known those cities will be the next expansion for like 10 years now. Fucking do it already.

Yep. The Celtics themselves just confirmed he underwent surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon.

I hate to say this but you're looking at him being out probably all of next season.

Out for the season, same thing I thought when I heard the news.

It'll be very interesting to see what direction new ownership takes this summer now with this bummer injury.

Right now I think they gotta $500 or $600 million cap hit coming.

This team will look very different. Brown's gonna have to step his game up next season. Team will be leaning on him now.

Or NOLA.

They've been talking about this so long I can't believe it isn't done.
Minnesota would make the most sense. Every team in the Central Division is geographically closer to them than anyone in the Western Conference.

Nah, Memphis makes the most sense. Sure the Central Division is closer, but divisions ar basically meaningless, you have to consider the entire East

Minnesota travels more miles than any other team per year due to being in the West. They should be the choice to move to the East.

Their travel is barely more than many other West teams.
Geographically Memphis just makes more sense.

Cleveland is the fathest team from the Twin Cities of the teams in the Central Division, but it's still about 40 miles closer than OKC is, which is Minnesota's nearest Conference opponent.

Again, divisions are meaningless and their travel is not so different than other western teams.

Nah I know. They're staying in Portland.

Seattle and Vegas getting teams would be huge though. Wish they'd hurry up and get this done already.

Minnesota or Memphis can move East!
The Thunder volunteer to move to the East, makes perfect sense

Looking at the map, it's quite simple. Memphis is more or less equidistant to OKC, Dallas, Charlotte, Atlanta and the Bobcats. If a second team needed to move, it would be them IMO.

Now look at the Wolves. The only teams close to them are all East teams (Bucks, Bulls, Pacers, Pistons, etc). They are 700+ miles from any West team.

Which team is further west?
I have minnesota 3rd after Memphis and New Orleans. It's not my fault they are so far North and the league decided to split East and West. Let's go NBC and ABC, then we can have teams in conferences wherever we want like football and baseball

The Wolves are nearly 800 miles from their nearest Conference opponent. Since you play the bulk of your schedule against your own conference, they have to travel more than any other team

Memphis may be farther east but at least teams in their own division are pretty close by.
