Just got my MNF Bears tickets. Hoping for a win and a good light show.
This is one for the old timers. I went to a game at Soldier Field. It was 1975 ... the next to last College All Stars vs. previous years NFL Champ.(Pittsburgh.) The stadium was built over 100 years ago. Have a good time.

I am not a fan of 5 prime time games I love my 1:00 games with one or two prime games. Washington fans owe a huge thank you for all he has done for this team. He has done everything right to make this team successful except for the team name. I figured that out .... a Commanders hat should be here tomorrow and I have two pins Naval Officers cross fouled anchors and the silver oak leaf worn by O-5 Navy Commanders. We never really know about schedules until the season is under way. We have no ideas how injuries will affect Washington or their opponents. They should (I hope) come out of the gate fast in the first 6 weeks.

Team to watch this year is the 49ers, they have the easiest schedule in the league based on last years opponents.

This could be my last year as a big time Washington fan. I semi retired in March. If I can get everything lined up I hope to retire to Florida before the 2026 season .... go Jaguneers!!!

Harris saved our team. I really thought I'd go to my grave with Dan or his son as the owner. Happy to hear you have a Commanders hat on the way. I know that was hard. Lol. Trust me it was hard for me as well. I still have more Redskins gear and jerseys than I know what to do with.

I do enjoy 1pm games. I hate waiting around as well, but I love that we have as many primetime games as we do. It speaks to how the league views us. I took my son to the Giants game last year. Place was half full, Giants fans everywhere, fight song was some weird jingle. It wasn't my dad's RFK.

I was at the game vs the Giants in 86 when home field and the division were on the line. We lost that, but the atmosphere was electric. Very cold, but I'll never forget how big that game felt. I wanted my son to experience that. Then I saw the Atlanta game on TV, and that was about as close to RFK that place had been in a while. Picked the Bears game and I'm taking my son again as sort of a do over. MNF! Hail Mary rematch? I need him to experience that.

Last year I was talking to my best friend who is a die hard Texans fan. By mid-season he was telling me Jayden and the Skins were appointment television. I love that. We've been a joke for so long. Fingers crossed on the injury front. Tunsil and Conerly do help me sleep a little better at night.

Thought I was the only one who was really high on the 49ers this year. If McCaffery is right, they should win that division.

Hope you continue to post after your move and I can see you and Shark tossing back a few in 80 degree weather in November. Thank you for your service by the way.

They bold is where I have a problem with the Commanders. I truly wish they would fish or cut bait. I know we will never have Redskins again, but you can’t have it both ways, keeping the fight song ‘almost’ the same. Some things should go away, and come back with new, and I just hate the way they reconfigured the fight song.

Sadly, I don’t think we will ever have an experience like RFK ever again. Prices, and PSL’s specifically, are going to whitewash the new stadium, like they have for everywhere else, and we will see it magnified with the stadium being in DC. I am young enough to remember RFK still shaking in the mid 90s, and was there for many games during Joe Gibbs 2.0 where the stadium could still thunder pretty loudly. We will never experience any of those again. The closest I’ve actually encountered to that kind of environment in the past 15 years was the Army/Navy game this past year. It brought back memories of what the stadium experience in the seating bowl used to be from a fan/crowd perspective.

Likely not but could be as good in a different way.

Hard to know what the stadium experience might be - as 'winning consistently' makes a hell of a difference on all fronts.

Obviously Skins needs to win before any partially fair comparisons can be made and even then, when you include generational differences (team vs player affiliation, social media, way football is consumed and watched today... etc), it will be difficult to measure.

I think you look at the Nationals at home, and it’s a great comparison. While I am an Orioles fan, I’ve attended numerous Nats games at home, as well as those on the road at Oriole Park. Nats fans are more vocal and more engaged at Oriole Park. What happens is that a lot of people are at the game, not necessarily Nats fans, and are consuming it differently and they are there for work and ‘client’ visits.

I’m guessing the same thing happens here, and PSL’s are going to make it so your average, ‘blue collar’ fan isn’t able to afford their season tickets anymore, and can only attend one or two games a year. My wife and I are high earners, are current club level season ticket holders and we also have a 29 game Orioles plan. If they are charging PSLs $15k-$60k like the Bills are…….we’re out. We can afford it, but we’d rather put that towards something else. It would be insane if they charge that much, plus you have to buy the season tickets every year.

If that’s the case for us as high earners……..who is going to buy those PSLs, and who is going to the games?

Yeah, the new fight song has to go. Either don't play it at all or go back to the old version and let the fans sing it without putting the words on the jumbo screen. If they want to keep Commanders in it, fine, but bring back the old tempo at least.

DC is so transient now. I still think there is a core fanbase that is waiting to comeback. Won't happen over night, but a sustained winner, and the new dome will be a tough environment for visitors. RFK was it's own animal. I agree on that.
