Behavior wise, is there really any difference between Marchand and Tom Wilson? They are both good and skilled players. They are also both cheap shot artists, divers, and run their mouth's on and off the ice. Classy enough after a series ends to say a team plays cheap in the post series press conference, its another thing to say that then flop like he did last night (along with the Aho mouth guard antics).

I guess I am just curious how some people can like one of them but not the other.
For me, the big difference is that Wilson will finish the shit he starts. (respect)
Marchand will not. (none)

Coach Q to the Ducks. Probably not a good look but as a coach he’s better than Cronin was.

Let’s see if he lasts longer than Babcock did in his return to the NHL.

I would have turned in my canucks card had he come to Vancouver.

Despite any question about his past or character, I am amazed so many coaches get recycled over and over. And over.

I was listening to the radio on the way home and every coach they named as possible replacements were all the same coaches. the only surprise I had was Randy Carlye was not mentioned.

My wife says I'm still naive in some matters and maybe she's right, I thought that a person's character in a high profile position should factor into a decision like this, but I guess it doesn't. Yesterday on Donnie and Dhali, Rick Dhaliwal was saying how he wants to get Theo Fleury on the show and if it were to happen, that's one show I won't be watching.

lol - I don't think I would go that far, but what's the upside to having him on the show? What do you think platforming a person like Theo will accomplish? It's practically tacit approval of a dangerous conspiracy theorist. I mean, you have to step back and ask yourself why the Flames have never retired his jersey or want anything to do with him, there's plenty of valid reasons why it will never happen.

Even ignoring all the other negative effects a coach's character might have, I would think it would affect the way the players responded to him, especially in known cases like this. So I would figure, in cases like this his character would end up affecting his job performance too. But what do I know.

there is ZERO reason to give him a platform. he spreads hate, lies and division. He doesnt deserve anytime other than to get talked down to.. fuck him and fuck anyone that gives him that kind of platform

With Aquilinis you never know but I agreed with Halbro when they were saying all along that Q would land in a market like Anaheim because he would only face 1 question about his Chicago past from their 12 fans and media

I saw Pastime Sports Langley location was having Theo come in for an autograph signing session ... and this was right after he was tweeting about Alberta secession :L

I am hoping one day somebody comes in and wants to wear #14 and the Flames say yes - Maybe they're waiting for Theo to die :noidea:
