Well, we can all thank the Oilers for ruining the draft lottery. All non-playoff teams should be placed in a hat and drawn one-by-one to determine draft position. The commissioner always talks about the parity in the league, shouldn't it also apply to the draft?

No, parity should only happen in the draft in years that my team doesn’t finish dead last

This year it is the Sharks birthright to the first overall pick. Next year when, god willing, the Sharks finish bottom 5 instead of bottom 1, we all hold hands and sing folk songs about fairness
