I like Laine, I liked him as a Jet and thought he got a raw deal (Blake Wheeler messed that locker room up). However if he is not injured he did seem prettty disinterested the last two months including the playoffs. Many games there seemed barely an effort. Some rumors have him needing surgery and putting it off to play, if thats the case it sucks for him (bad luck) and hopefully he is all better next year. If he is healthy, I dont think he wants to play.

Either way one year left on his deal, I'd be amazed if he was not back.

I always liked Laine too. He does sometimes get into those snits where he seems like he doesn't care, which is why playing with a good friend may be helpful. He also has the added issue of communicating in a weird way which makes him seem standoffish.

It's all about having the right situation around him, he can be very effective IMO. As long as you're not expecting him to block shots and play 100% defense.
