Well, one guy running to be the next Canadian PM wants to defund the CBC while the other guy wants to add $150 million to their annual budget. I'm voting for the guy who wants the CBC to not only survive, but hopefully thrive.
Of all the things on the left the one I understand the least is the desire to continue funding the CBC. Nobody consumes the media it produces and its news division may be profitable on its own as a private entity. It will continue to have less and less impact on day to day lives as the years go by as zoomers enter adulthood.

It’s throwing good money after bad to satisfy a few boomers who still watch 22 Minutes.

Pretty much all of our national newspapers are owned by US companies who's owners lean pretty far trump.

And it shows.
Globe is owned by Woodbridge (Canadian), Toronto Star is owned by Jordan Bitove (son of the guy who owned the Raptors at their inception, a native Torontonian), the two biggest Quebecois papers are owned by Quebecor.

The only org owned by Americans is Postmedia and it’s not like any of their major pubs were ever left wing or centrist to begin with save maybe one of the Vancouver dailies(?).

Transparency at the register - all businesses should provide this info for the intellectually challenged MAGA and normies who haven't been paying attention

Hey, don't be knocking 22 Minutes lol - CBC Gem also provides a lot of sports coverage (amateur sports along with skiing and track and field) that TSN and Sportsnet can't be bothered to broadcast.
