Buster with the play of the year assist according to Fox because he kicked the puck to Doughty who launches a 200' EN goal.

Like no one in the history of the NHL has ever kicked a puck back to a defenseman on a face off, freaking classic.

I'll say, he did have an awesome pass to Fiala for that breakaway, but Fiala is allergic to breakaway goals for some reason. He was visibly pissed at least, which I can get behind. At least guys are invested. Fox did say Byfield has sorta lost any timing he had on his scoring streak. Where he was making the ideal pass in time, he's doing the opposite the last few games.

I actually didn't get to catch the 3rd, but saw the highlights. 2 goals in 44 seconds certainly helped. Kings were legitimately sitting at 3 total shots, and none of them good, with something like almost halfway through the 2nd period. Then toss in the goal called back and a whacky goal for.

Spence didn't play, and I wonder why. Chats saying it was coach's decision, and not injury, which I don't really get. Clarke didn't look strong again in this game, on the plays I noticed him. Moverare got manhandled on the first Utah goal, and his partner was Clarke who was the guy guarding Crause has he stepped out from behind the net and scored. He also had one super flub that led to a scoring chance. But then again so did Gavrikov. Who also has a random little penalty streak going from what I've seen. Kuemper looked really solid for sure.

But nice to win, and helps Vegas got beat up by Winnipeg. How the Kings swept them but no one else can seem to figure them out is very strange. Kings still in the hunt for that division, BUT currently it would be against the Blues, who just won their 11th in a row (yikes). And Draisaitl also stumbled a few times tonight, and then left the game and didn't return. So there are a lot of scenarios out there still and Kings gotta just worry about their own game for now.

Clarke also gave the last pp that gave the 2nd goal. ...even without that i do prefer moverare and Spence over Clarke. I think Clarke will be the liability come PO's, I get that he is a forward playing D and everyone likes those types, I just dont, never have. While he is sort of nimble, he is slow, weak and extremely prone to indecision which leads to bad penalties and horrible turnovers. Yes Spence and Moverare make mistakes ss do all players but the are rarely those insane Muffin like ones. While I can st least see some glimpses of why someone would ghink Buster is good, I never see any reason Clarke should be playing over the other guys.

I heard that, it was refreshing to hear him say something like that vs the constant slobbering we've been subjected to. It's why I like Stoll, he doesn't candy coat anything - he props players, he calls players out evenly IMO. I honestly think the Kings should look at him for the booth after Nickson retires.

As for Buster, he may hit 50 points this season which is a step back from last year but the concerning thing to me is more than half that will have been produced in the last 6 weeks, many of the fortuitous kind of points than him actually making a direct impact.

I believe we were all in general agreement that anything less than 60-70 points this season would be considered a disappointment considering he's making $6.25 million now and was expected to take an additional step. I still believe he is an engine that will top out as a M6 forward which sucks considering he was a 2OA.

Should have been but apparently Kempe gets credit since he pushed the goalie in. That whole sequence was strange.

Watched the highlights again last night on NHLT, the puck actually ricocheted back onto Kempe's skate right before he went into the goalie so they did get the goal scorer correct and Kuzmenko the assist correct.

I still don't understand that whole sequence though, I've never seen a goal scored like that or heard the refs interpretation of a goal like that.

Third game in a row where something weird has happened (PP situation in SJ, the crashing into Kuemper but no penalty/no goal and now this) and POs are right around the corner. It's almost like the refs are screwing up on purpose to create a buffer for the crazy calls that are about to happen the next 2 months.

Hey look at that..... We agree 100%! I mentioned it at the time but when Mark Stone put the fear of God in this dude in that preseason game I was really worried about his mental state. He's not a great skater, over thinks plays and so he's mistake prone. Pucks right. Trade him while he has any value.

Yet another busted pick and an 8OA to boot. I don't see anything special in this guy's game at all and he seems to have stalled, he's not even incrementally improving. That Stone incident is spot on too, he looked like he was going to cry.

Disappointing to say the least, Guenther, Dillinger and Coronato were all on the board still and 9, 12 and 13. I just don't understand how this franchise keeps blowing this high picks.
