More kid friendly so it won't be for everyone but this looks like it could be fun.

Not for me but I think this its better for them to create content specifically for kids than content intended to appeal to everyone.

We'll see how the rest of this goes but I thought the first two episodes were a lot of fun.

I will watch either tonight or tomorrow. Something looks weird with the film style, but I have only seen the trailers so far, so I am reserving my judgement at this time…

Yeah 1st few episodes probably won't be great so this might be a show you have to stick with it...

They decided to release it a day early for some reason. My guess is they were trying to entice people to sign up for the Black Friday D+ offer. New episodes will be released each Tuesday going forward

I watched the first eps.

Not bad. The main girl is a little bitch, though.

Yeah I would assume that is exactly why they released early... I mean it's all about the money

If Darth Kennedy stays away from this and it's Favreau's show to run, could be decent. Basically Star Wars meets Goonies. That said, I have so little faith in Disney these days to not only produce a good movie but ruin franchises/series, that I probably wont watch it lol. Not that I'm 'protesting', there's just much more entertaining things to do with the remaining years of my life.

So what your thoughts so far?

I actually like it so far. Not as good as Mando S1, but that was targeted at adults while this is targeted at kids, so I am factoring in a lot of forgiveness.

One question I have, though, is when is this supposed to be taking place? Everyone online just assumes this is taking place post-sequels (approx. 35 years ABY). But what in the show proves this? At Attem (sp?) is isolated, and nothing I have seen beyond the barrier has provided any indication of time period. Could this actually be taking place more around the time of the Clone Wars? Or some other time period entirely?

It's Post-RotJ. I can't remember the date specifically but I think its something like 9 years after. They mentioned it in the press releases, etc. From what's been said on the show, At Attin has been isolated before the events of The Phantom Menace. They have no idea of any of the events of the Clone Wars or the Rebellion. Just how long they've been isolated is the mystery. It could be the High Republic Era (The Acolyte time period) but there's indicators it could be even longer and into the Old Republic Era

I get all of that. But has any of that been established, or really even hinted at in the show yet? One of the parents references “The Republic” when they are speaking with The Supervisor, but that doesnt narrow down the timeframe. I have thought about any discussions that took place at the Pirates Cove, but I don’t remember any clues getting dropped.

Yes. Some of the comments and reactions of the people that aren't from At Attin indicate its post-Jedi. For example, Khym makes a comment after one of the kids mentions Alderaan that's something to the affect of them not being aware of any of the wars. And the X-Wing that pursued them in the latest episode has New Republic markings

The Alderaan comment is absolutely a timeframe marker. And the X-wings being used as governmental ships as well (I didn’t notice a marking, but THAT isn’t super important, actually).

What is the exact timing for Mando? It takes place just a few years after RotJ, I believe. Luke is still young-ish and is just beginning to establish his academy (Grogu is his first student). But during that time, the New Republic has already converted the galactic “police” vehicles from Ties to X-Wings.

I do like this show but as @calsnowskier asked, no idea when this is supposed to be set in.

Were we supposed to know about there home planet before or is this something new?

It hints at a few planets used in the past, but we have never heard the name “At Attin” before.

One theory is that it is the same planet that Luke was hiding out on in the sequels and the same planet that Plageius and Qimir were hiding out on in Acolyte.
