If nothing else, he will instill a culture in the organization that winning is EXPECTED. And he has the receipts to back up that cultural requirement.

Pretty much puts the rumor to rest that Posey didn’t have much input getting Chapman signed, after it was mentioned that he did, then was talked down that it was not quite like that.

Either way, what a great move this is, for the players and fans.

They have staffs for that, FZ would be perfect in that role of, course he won’t be staying.

Posey is the former HoF level player with cred with other players. He doesn’t have to be the primary number cruncher. Good move for the Giants.

That was mentioned on KNBR yesterday. They figured he probably knew. Hard to believe someone who worked with that JA would sign a 5 year extension without knowing he was soon to be out the door.

Gotta figure Pete P is gone as well...leaving an opening for Kim Ng.

Putila is officially no longer the GM. Per Posey, he will be “reassigned” (not fired). Posey said that job 1 is to find a GM. he specifically praised Sabes Sabes earlier in the presser. I doubt that was a coincidence.

My guess is that the new GM will either be Sabes or Ng.
