need some opinions guys, i haven't bought a baseball game in about 5 years

I'm more concerned with simulation and franchise qualities than actual gameplay and graphics

I'll look for the link, but someone asked AIF on the main board about this as well.

Nevermind, that was about an NBA game. I think guitarmy has talked about which game he plays, he probably has a good idea. Ihaven't bought a sports game, well ever for the PS3.

ps3 or 360?

MLB The Show is by far the best baseball game out on the market. However, its PS3 exclusive.

MLB 2k is the other option out there....and I really dont know why ps3 users would buy it (to be honest).
If you have a 360, its your only option... so it'll do. But if you own a ps3... get The Show.

Either or, I don't own either sysem, but whichever has the best baseball game definitely influences my decision on the system I buy

I've always heard the show was the best, and I remember it being good, but things can change in 3-5 years, games wise

My understanding has always been that for sports, PS3 is the way to go and for online shooters Xbox is the way to go. I got a PS3 for the shooters, but also because it is blueray and my wife loves the Singstar games.

The BluRay also plays a part in my decision

I ask b/c I when I went into a store yesterday and willing to spend 300+ bucks, the guys basically talked down to me and ridiculed my decision to want a PS3, even after explaining my rationale for wanting a PS3 and what I was looking for in gameplay, they kept stating reasons to get an XBox that didn't matter to me

I don't have much desire to play online or anything like that

I eventually left with this statement, "I came in to spend 300+ dollars today and now I'm leaving spending nothing, good job guys"

Cases could be made for both systems... (I own both)...but if I had to pick one...it would be the 360.

That said, for now, the best baseball game is definitely on the PS3.
Its part of the reason why I got a ps3 few years back (The Show & bluray capabilities).

I think this little bit of feedback has solidified my decision, thanks guys

I've never liked XBox, don't play shooters, don't play online, and have never like the 2k sports series for anything

But I was willing to get some feedback first

You have to realize that most of the guys at the retail stores are first person shooter uber-nerds and spend every waking hour plugged in, so Xbox is perfect for them. They can pay their fee per year and get a good online experience. For me, PS3 is more versatile and the online is free. Yeah you have to deal with a few more cheaters in older online games, but not that big of a deal.

Having a preference for a system is no excuse for bad customer service, I'll just make sure to make my purchase elsewhere

That's a good one too! Rep that!

Used to play the hell outta that one one the game boy. Good times.

Yup, I repped that one too. Now I have to wait before I can rep your RBI baseball. Too much in the last 24 hours I guess.

I was always a fan of Baseball Stars because it allowed you to create your own teams and players.
