I would have wanted Henry as part of a duo, but I don't think he can get nearly as many carries as he used to. He's 30 and has a lot of tread on those tires so I'm not too worried about losing out on him. $8M for one year I'd think about, maybe, but for two I just don't see it. I would have gone with a couple other guys at that price/length. I wonder if we were hoping a guy like Mixon got cut and would have been a bargain, because we obviously need a RB or two after losing Pollard and haven't done anything other than tapped out when Moss went above $3M per. Deuce isn't likely ever going to be able to play at this level at his size and while I liked Davis he doesn't look like more than a #2. I wonder if CeeDee is holding out for a deal they won't do, because otherwise he should be signed and our cap space savings could be used for other players. I'm getting close to just hoping for a reset year. I say every year you can't go half assed and expect to win. You either go for it or you rest. WE just do enough to win some games and make Jerry money every year and then shit the bed in the playoffs.

All I know is the Dallas run game is wimpy. They never batter for more yards. Stopped cold unless they break through.

And I'd rather have Henry than Pollard.

But the whole thing about "all in" as has been stated is bogus.

At this point I'm expecting that the team regresses. Lucky to get 10 wins.

The CeeDee situation is bothersome for sure. It is holding up the team.

The Cowboys are depending on this year's draft to fill 4-5 starting spots. If this year's draft is as big a bust as last years, we are looking at a big step back

The Cowboys said they couldn't afford Zack Moss who will have a base of $2.9M(complete bullshit). Updated FA RB list has Rico Dowdle as the best available player. Let that sink in

They don't even have a 4th round pick. Those comp picks could be used to trade up if necessary. no way they fill all these holes with three picks. I have a hunch they go RB with one of the first three picks. It looks to me like the Giants and Commodes are closing the gap a little.

3rd rd RB wouldn't hurt my feelings

They have their signal on to move into the passing lane.

The dollars DO matter. You just can't pay Dak Prescott $60M per year and expect anything to change. You want to win 10 -12 games every year and make the playoffs and a shit ton of money but never get over the hump, then yes, don't take a step back. But Dak is good, not great. There aren't many scenarios where he is the reason you win a SB. You can't pay those dollars for a guy to be "good enough". We have tried this way many years in a row now and Dak is only going to get older under this new deal. He is already visible slower, less agile and less able to avoid defenders and less able to roll out and throw smoothly. Where will he be in a couple more years? He's going to be 31 at the start of next season and about 35 when his next deal ends. Maybe if he loses about 15-20 lbs he can turn it around? I don't know and you can't really ask a guy to do that. Plus, the dead cap problem is going to be way worse at the end of his next deal so you are taking a couple years off either way in the next handful of years, it's just a matter of when. So 4 more years of this and then a year or two to find another QB sounds like a worse option to me. I don't blame Dak entirely for our post season disappointment but he has been a big part of it. We cannot just keep doing the same thing and expect different results. We need to make major changes and major changes are relieving the Jones Boyz of their duties which won't happen, getting a new HC which probably happens next year and/or changing the QB
Agree
I was sayin on the last contract it was time to let him walk just because of the $$$ nothing else. You can only pay great players that kind of money. Dak is a good teammate great for the promoting of the team but when the spotlight comes on he does not rise to the occasion IMO. The defense let us down 2 no doubt on that but it’s time to let him play it out and let him walk. Or maybe when he sees the Cowboys are not paying up him he will agree to a trade?
No idea what we have in the backup Lance we would have 1 year to find out or most likely end wasting the 4th we used in the trade as he is cut.
Onward through the fog with a shout out to Pday.

That all looks like the same pile of dogshit to me. Not a starting RB in the bunch for a good team

I’m saying They are all way above Dowdle. Dobbins is very talented. Injuries are his problem. much, much better than Dowdle

Dillon potentially to me. All the big physical guys are who Dallas needs seem to be gone. Actually in conjunction with a Pollard type.

And of course they have shot that wad.

I actually dreamt that LeGarrette Blount wanted to come out of retirement and show the Pokes what was what.

I'll admit it was a wet dream, but I'll take those any whichway.

Dobbins is a borderline bust. Everyone on that list is. It would be a massive drop to go from Pollard to Dobbins

Would be a massive upgrade to go from Dowdle to Dobbins. I said nothing about Pollard. I was responding to your comment on Dowdle

You said he was the best RB available. I showed you he wasn’t. What is your deal this week?

Whats your deal? I was pointing out how fucking bare the market is. When Dowdle makes the list, it says it all. As for Dobbins, he is better than Dowdle, but since he will want more than the $2.9 million that Zack Moss is making but was too much for the Cowboys, it doesn't matter either way. Maybe they ment Dowdle was the best if the group Jerry could afford, just past you and me

Jerry wants to roll with Deuce Vaughn and draft Audric Estime 3rd day.

My two areas of concern are LB and oline without Tyron.

I flip a coin at 24 between C/G or LB. Man! this is messed up.

Do any coaches get a vote on free agent TEAM needs/holes/bodies?

It’s crazy how so many teams ignore LBer nowadays, us included. Am I wrong to think an old school, 3 down tackling machine LBer does as much for a team as anyone else? Warner, Wagner, etc. these guys are just the glue to a defense. I just don’t get it and especially from a team that can’t stop the run and also can’t cover the flat on 3rd and medium. Maybe I’m getting too old but I still see the value Of a guy shooting a gap, not getting sealed off by an OL play after play and stuffing a RB in short yardage and not picking the wrong gap every play. How long has it been for this team?
