Chapman’s velocity was down. 99 sinker was his fastest pitch and the fastballs were 95-98.
Looks like the honeymoon Bochy had with Duran is over. Smith has warning track power for the most part too.
Heim and JPM were already used. Is there another Jonah on the team?…
I would have put Jonah in to hit for Duran or JPM who looks overmatched by MLB ball. He can bunt. ..,
Very funny but in the 8th inning Heim was available to PH for Zeke or JPM but instead he entered in the 9th due to pinch runner for Garver.Heim and JPM were already used. Is there another Jonah on the team?
Ok I looked at the posting time since there was no other reference.Very funny but in the 8th inning Heim was available to PH for Zeke or JPM but instead he entered in the 9th due to pinch runner for Garver.
Your sarcasm is misplaced if I am understanding you correctly.
His later hit further legitimizes what I tried to convey
Also FWIW we had Hedges available to catch if needed since we burned Huff
Home for the winterSo, where does this team go from here? "Here" being what looks like a year where we miss the postseason after starting off so great. Do they consider the first part of the season a fluke or do they search for what went wrong with what was a great team? I would think the plan of action for those two situations would be vastly different.
It is easy to look at DH, LF, and CF and see improvements are needed. What about RF? Adolis completely disappears for big chunks of the season. Semien can be very streaky as well.
Improvements can consist of poor production being replaced by good production. They can also consist of replacing mediocre to good production with very good to great production. What about replacing roller coaster like production with more consistent production?
It is easy to see that we need improvement in the pen and a couple of other spots, but can we also improve on Taveras, Lowe and Adolis. Furthermore, can and should we look for another manager?
One guy we need to find out about is Duran? Is he going to cut it?
There seems to be so many questions heading into the offseason.
Think Durant will stay with the team but as a bench player in 2024 and Taveras will be moved. Lowe and Garcia will be right where they are now in 2024. Lowe is still one of the best hitters around and Garcia by his homers and RBI’s will probably mean they’ll give him another year under arbitrationSo, where does this team go from here? So what’s the story on Duran? Gets pulled last night and not playing today. Hurt?Josh "the slugger" Smith playing 3rd today.
