San Francisco Giants 1B Angel Villalona has not yet received final approval for a United States work visa. The team is hopeful he'll get his visa in time to report with hitters Feb. 24.

Apparently, the Giants have done all they can do as an org; AnVil has to go in for the interview and reportedly will do so on Monday. I'm betting I'll see him in Scottsdale in a few weeks.

San Francisco Giants 1B Angel Villalona had his report date to spring camp delayed once again due to repeated problems with his work visa. "It's a visa that requires that they be an elite athlete. And currently, he's not in what they viewed as ... top physical condition," vice president of player personnel Bobby Evans said. The HIPAA Privacy Rule prevented Evans from citing specifics about Villalona's health status, but Villalona has a history of weight issues.

This is true. But I would market Pagan as the...pagan. Pitchforks, horns, hot wings, that sort of thing. Set up an intra-fan rivalry. Have an "Armageddon Day", where the two sides can "meet" on the ballfield after a game.
