I was really hoping they would push for Bradberry. I think Jackson III plays better this year. He was right there on that long throw Saturday.

Got a couple fingers on dudes mask on accident and got a tough flag. If the LBs can just cover the soft zone and flats, that just might give the DLine time to get home.

So far it looks like the gameplan to beat our defense is the quick game.
That is the purpose of zone defense right. Keep plays in front of you and rally up to make tackles. Don't let the big play go over the top. It isn't so much a three and out defense as it is an eventually you'll miss a play and we'll stop you. Of course you have to pass guys off correctly in the deep zones so they can't go over the top.

I dont want to overreact based off of three quarters of football from the starters. It just seems like us playing this soft is allowing teams to get easy yards on 1st and 2nd. That's leaving teams with favorable 3rd down situations.

We simply cannot get off the field on 3rd down. I'm not even going to pretend to know the solution. It seems whenever we send more than four, we give up big plays.

It's very early though. We'll all know exactly what we have on defense very shortly.

I am at the point to see how they play once the regular season starts. There are more weapons on offense, a better QB they should score more points. Hopefully that means the D won't have to be on the field as long. I don't know what to expect from the D.

I am also hoping now matter who wins having KC and Baltimore as the last two preseason games helps the team. Both good well coached teams.

Yeah, I think Jackson will play better. He's a man coverage player who was in too much zone last year. Hopefully Fuller will continue his play from the latter part of the season. Love St Juste's size and he's got soime skills. There's no high priced safety they have to try n justify playing so Curl should will be in the mix starting opening day. McCain still makes me uneasy. And while I have more confidence in the secondary than I do the LBing, Just like the LBs depth is more an X factor than a known one. I still can't believe no real effort has been made to acquire another LB as well.

I'd like to see Wince lead a TD drive against a 1st unit defense myself.

I will not be shocked if we lose in Detroit, but I will be disappointed.

Poor scheme is why. Make little adjustments on 3 &5 or less. Cannot always line 6-7 yards off and play zone. Get more creative with your play calling and don't get beat over the top.

I finally got to see the game
I am not going over what has already said other then it’s clear we arent an elite team .

So far our defense looks to be middle of the pack

Samuel and brown don’t seem to be able to make plays on contested catches

Erickson , funny as it seams , is doing well in the offense which I said he needed to to but is mediocre in the return game

So far I have Milne over Erickson with the rubber match coming vs ravens next week

I am concerned about injuries and the lack of snaps our staring interior o/lineman going into week one as well as our TES
Turner not having preseason snaps going into the regular season hurts his development

Wish Bates got more snaps
Dotson looks to be a gem
Howell has nice tools , he really just needs seasoning and limiting batted balls
Clearly Falco is the number 2 guy and I haven’t seen anything from Howell that’s makes me think he can come in and win football games yr one
Love his potential

Listened to Logan Paulsen and Craig Hoffman today.

Paulsen thought the D looked better than offense. He said what I said during the game, Mahomes is very hard to defend.

Paulsen didn't ding the offense but said it looks like it has 4 or 5 new guys and they have not jelled yet.

Paulsen and Hoffman do not like Erickson as a returner and they love AG there and playing in space more. He thinks and I agree that both BRob and AG will play with BRob getting slightly more carries and there will be sets with both of them in the backfield

His take on TH was that Scott opened the playbook more for him due to his familiarity with the offense and that he made some big boy throws. Also 2 minute offense play calling.

My take only:
Not shocked at all that a bunch of guys were back on the field the first day after the 2nd preseason game.
Bates is too you to be missing plays.
Dotson is the #2
Howell has potential and I look forward to him developing. Will be interesting to see him against Baltimore because Harbaugh will like go after him.
Sims and Milne are WRs 5 and 6.

I'm personally not concerned about the offense. Mahomes is gonna do what Mahones does, but Baker moved the football on us too. That's what has me concerned. It's so early though.

I like Samuel in the slot anyway. Glad Dotson is the 2. Sheehan stated that the Chiefs attempted the fourth least 3rd down attempts last year.

Said the Skins (didn't use that term) should be encouraged by the fact that they were able to get KC in 3rd down situations.

Tom pushed back and closed by saying he feels the Skins are gonna have to score a lot of points this year and was laughing when he said it.

It's all about perspective at this point. Do you bash the doom and gloom crowd? Is the doom and gloom crowd looking at everyone else and saying "you don't see these red flags on defense?"

Who's right? Not sure. Gonna find out real soon.

My take is the defense will be good enough vs avg or below avg teams and will struggle vs the good ones

It looks to be middle of the pack

If we are ranked in the teens on defense we'll have a shot at playing meaningful games in December.

Kurt Warner did a nice breakdown of Wentz' first 2 games. He had praise for Wentz regarding getting through his progressions and his decision making (where to go with the football) however, his foot placement when delivering the football is often out of sync along with his hips to where he is throwing the football affecting his accuracy. He did critique a few concepts used in our offense that were also note worthy.
All in all a pretty good break down of Wentz.
