I though this was a thread about Dan Snyder.
it isI though this was a thread about Dan Snyder.
Will the public or NFL owners get a summary of the contents of what happened? They might have pulled on a few strings and Dan buckled under pressure?
I don't understand why he doesn't just sell the team. Surely he knows the fans hate him and he is in the news for all the wrong reasons. The income from the team has to be declining as well.
He could turn a massive profit by selling the team. I am simply not sure why he wants to hold on?
Congress has to bring up the cooking the books allegations. That would move the needle.
Spot on. Dan isn't going anywhere. It does not matter how bad an owner he is, the team will continue to make money. The House investigation was mostly a dog an pony show.![]()
Green Football: The 10 Richest NFL Teams, As Of 2022
The NFL is one of the richest sports leagues globally.www.therichest.com
I thought the Skins value was declining as well. I remember at one point they had dropped into the teens among NFL teams, but the name change, has to be the driving force, right? Or something else has given them a huge bump. As of 2022 they are the 5th most valued NFL franchise @ 4.3 billion. The Rams are @ 4, Giants @ 3, Pats @ 2 and Boys @ 1. Gotta believe the revenue sharing the NFL engages in helps, 8.78 billion total, but that's just 274.3 million when split 32 ways. And look for that to increase noticeably if/when the NFL goes into partnership with Amazon or some other mass conglomerate streaming outfit.
Bottom line....when you have run a business as bad as Snyder has run the Skins for 20+ years, but are still iron clad guaranteed to make multi millions and millions of dollars. Where is the incentive to sell? Simply put, it just ain't there. And just imagine if the franchise were to ever turn around and become a successful on the field product. There's only a few ways Snyder is ever giving up ownership imo. Death or a prison sentence are 2 ways and while it may be doubtful. The Snyder family could still fanaggle out a way to retain ownership since the Skins are 100% theirs. The other way and the most surefire is the other owners kicking him to the curb. As time marches on that looks less n less likely. As not so long ago there seemed to be a whole loltta heat on Snyder and that has continued to cool. Unless something breaks big I'm thinking pretty soon it'll be business as usual.
exactly , what were they going to do and why hasnt it been made public yet as far as questions ?Spot on. Dan isn't going anywhere. It does not matter how bad an owner he is, the team will continue to make money. The House investigation was mostly a dog an pony show.
Hmmm, I see the info you posted but I am not understanding it. How in the world can the Commanders be the 5th most valued NFL franchise? Again. I trust the data, but am not reconciling it in my brain.![]()

I think you know this but the most important thing is revenue sharing. When people say "I won't give Washington my money for apparel" what you are really saying is I am not giving my money to the NFL. NFL revenue by team 2020 | Statista![]()

I can't really reconcile it either. Granted the name change might have given the Skins a bump, but a bump of that magnitude. That's a little too hellified. All I know is ever since the Skins became 100% owned by the Snyder's. That 430 billion number is the one I've seen in every report.Hmmm, I see the info you posted but I am not understanding it. How in the world can the Commanders be the 5th most valued NFL franchise? Again. I trust the data, but am not reconciling it in my brain.
I've never heard of the withholding of funds or cooking the books accusations. You'd think though that in 11 hours of questioning every conceivable accusation and alleged charge would have been gone over pretty extensively. With the game attendance plummeting and fans abandoning the team, I would figure we were in the teens or higher 20's. There again, I cannot speak to the algorithm they have to calculate the franchise worth.
From a business perspective, that does make sense. No matter how many losing seasons, no matter how much bad press he gets, money is money....and it will keep rolling in as long as he is the owner. I tried to explain some of this to Dean and was unsuccessful. The NFL is a business...period. Emotions, loyalty, approval, etc, mean nothing to the owner.
One thing I was hoping that would come from the hearing was if Congress attempted to go after the withholding of funds accusation. They were in there for over 10 hours, as such, I hope somebody brought it up. It was always going to be a hail mary but I was hoping Snyder would get rattled and embarrass the NFL/owners. I doubt it happened.
I know people have speculated that Snyder has dirt on the other owners which is possible. Another possibility while not as nefarious is that Snyder is the point man on some business deals involving other owners unrelated to the NFL. He may not know shit about building and maintaining a successful NFL football team. But the man wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth either. He's got some type of hustle and he's self made. Its not beyond the pale to think he along with other owners have a couple coals in the fire when it comes to other business dealings besides the NFL.The last aspect of this situation that nobody can explain is WHY is Snyder being protected. As I have said, Richardson did far less than Snyder and he was apparently strongly encouraged to sell. Donald Stirling made insensitive and bigoted comments and was banned for life from the NBA. Snyder has been accused of far worse by dozens of employees and nothing has happened. Do we have an explanation? I am not a conspiracy theorist but none of this makes sense. The NFL was not going to tolerate Jon Gruden after the email leak. I am guessing Goodell told Davis to get rid of him or "strongly encourage" him to do so. What Gruden did was terrible, but I am not seeing how Gruden and Richardson had the book thrown at them while nothing has really happened to Snyder. I firmly believe that Adam Silver would have forced Snyder out by now.
Yeah, its seems that owning an NFL team if not a license to print money. It certainly is a license to make money hand over fist.I think you know this but the most important thing is revenue sharing. As far as the congressional investigation goes all they can do is investigate. They do not have the power to remove him as owner. The hope is enough was revealed that the other owners would vote him out. We have no idea what was said during his 11 hours of testimony.
- This helps negates the impact of poor attendance on individual teams, such as the Redskins. We know from the 2018 Green Bay Packers’ financial report that the league provided $274.3M in shared revenue per team. Multiplying that amount by 32 teams yields a net total shared revenue pool of $8.8B.
On average, an NFL team earned about $7 million in ticket sales per stadium event during 2016, on which they earned about 8% profit. Expenses include: Athletes/musicians: 55%.
The link I posted where Jerrah is making more than twice what most teams makes me wonder where that money is coming from.Yeah, its seems that owning an NFL team if not a license to print money. It certainly is a license to make money hand over fist.

Here are a couple of articles for you Breed. This honestly seems to have disappeared. This was the allegation I thought was going to be nail on the coffin. Wow. That's mind blowing. The allegations came directly from members of the House Oversight Committee including the person who's overseeing it. Claiming to have over a decades worth of evidence provided by a former team employee. Here are a couple of articles for you Breed. This honestly seems to have disappeared. This was the allegation I thought was going to be nail on the coffin. I was wrong:
