USC might be able to hold there own....I dont think they are significantly far away from Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State.....They'll suffer the same fate competitiveness-wise as Texas will in the SEC.
RIP lots of conferences, looks like we're heading to 3-4 mega conferences. Big Ten, SEC, ACC, and that's about itRIP PAC12
I suppose Hockey could be described as 'Ice polo'.Meh
Would this be football only? AFAIK, no other B1G teams have surfing or water polo teams
Relegation could be interesting. Also, introduce an NIT type championship for the non-top 30 (or whatever) teams.RIP lots of conferences, looks like we're heading to 3-4 mega conferences. Big Ten, SEC, ACC, and that's about it
Maybe in 10-20 years they will just scrap conferences and put the biggest 20 teams in one pool and just have that be Division I. Then the rest of the schools can go back to being amateur competitions, and some can drop football entirely. Maybe a relegation type scheme as well so the big Div I list can change over time.
Ohhh, those poor Buffs
We definitely could use another division/level. There's about 40 teams could be in the top tier, then about 70 or so in the next level, then the FCS/D-1-A teams. There are pronounced differences in each one of those groupings. Sure, there are exceptional teams from the lower divisions that can beat the big dogs on occasion, but overall we know there are only about 20-30 teams each year with a lujjit shot at a title.Relegation could be interesting. The monopolization of college sports.WTF...........
What is happening to this world?!?!?!?!?!
I don't think the Pac-12 has the leverage. Big 12 might get some poaching done. Pac-12 is just dead, imo.The new Big 12 might be over before it starts if BYU and some of the other Big 12 teams start thinking of joining the PAC-12 instead.
One of them is not going to survive this.
It will be funny to see Cal-Berkely having to possibly extend an invite to the Baylor Bears.
