There is also supposed to be a supervolcano under Yellowstone National Park.
I saw a show about the volcanoes in the ring of fire and how a volcano blowing its top right into the ocean could create tidal waves 300 - 1000 + feet tall and is likely the reason for all the historical stories about massive flooding from around the globe. That was pretty interesting.
It was thought the largest tidal wave was to be around 32 feet tall caused by earthquakes at the ocean floor until some of these recent studies showed otherwise.
There is also supposed to be a supervolcano under Yellowstone National Park.
