Yep.

They could play together.....KG's mid range game wasn't bad at all. Not on Malone's level, but not bad either.
Bird and not KG is the perfect guy to play with that group

Of all of the reasons I've seen floated for Vogel being fired...that ones the dumbest yet.

It's not dumb necessarily (as that is his job, to make the pieces given to him fit), but it was a poison pill with little chance of success, especially with Russ' disinterest in changing his game to do so.

Yes and no.

If Westbrook were the only star, or the one they were building around, I would agree.

But he had Lebron and AD that were supposed to be the focus.

If you give your mechanic the parts to build a Volkswagen, don't complain when he doesn't build you a Ferrari.

If said mechanic took the job knowing the requirements and fails, he shouldn't be surprised when the customer isn't happy.

Except, when he took the job, finding a way to fit Westbrook in wasn't part of it. He also apparently told management that Westbrook wouldn't fit.

But it his job to work with the pieces he is given to the best of his ability. Westbrook also wasn't a willing student, both have failed. Vogel had failings other than Westbrook, like continuing to put Jordan on the court.

With the injuries, who else was he supposed to put in. Also, he didn't play him as much as some folks claim. He played in 32 games and averaged 12.8 minutes per game. The Sixers actually used him slightly more, playing him 13.4 minutes per game.

Disagree re: both failed. Westbrook wasn't listening to anyone, that's on him. Sometimes, if a guy just won't listen, there's nothing anyone can do.

The blame for this season's failures extends beyond Westbrook (and Vogel) of course, but they both were part of it IMO. It's over, time to move on (and the Lakers seem to be interviewing every playoff teams' assistants lol, today mining the Bucks' staff).

Yep. Doesn't matter the job, we've all worked with ''that guy'' who thinks he knows better than everyone else.

I'm not trying to say Vogel is some great coach. He's not. But he is a very good one who we just saw lead a team to a title under trying circumstances. In fact, when all of the other older teams were faltering in the bubble, the Lakers stayed together. Vogel had a lot to do with that. My point is that, of all of the folks that blame for this falls on, the least amount should go to Vogel.

I'm just glad that they seem to be looking outside the organization rather than insisting on the having some kind of Lakers connection. Not that they should exclude Lakers ties (Darvin Ham was an assistant), but if they do hire someone with a connection...it won't be because they have a connection.

I love that they are loyal and look to take care of their own...but sometimes that gets in the way of what's best for the team.

Congrats on your team being better than HurricaneDij39 expected. Doesn’t change my Suns title prediction.

Again, only if they win the west.

Meaning, if @msgkings322 still has rooting interest in the Lakers he won't get an admission from yours truly.

Sooooooo.....

Now that the Suns have left the title picture and the Warriors remain are you willing to admit you were at least a little wrong in not picking the Warriors to even make the playoffs?

Four more wins.

Your team is not God's gift to the planet like most your fans claim it to be, and losing to a team you're favored to beat would negate everything.

Not predicting it, but bracing myself for a Douchmon/JimMe final. Those two narcissists deserve each other. Will also put Keef in my avi if/when it happens...

That's not what he asked. Are you ready to acknowledge your rep for being a basketball idiot for not picking the Warriors to even make the playoffs? Not that it matters, you predicted that and we've already laughed at you.

And the bolded is false on many levels.

You know it's not a stretch to say you were wrong about the Warriors by saying you had them completely missing the playoffs to them making the conference finals. Then to hold them to a standard of a team you said wouldn't make the playoffs to then having to win the entire Western conference is just cowardly. Especially when you pride yourself on rankings and predictions.

Truth be told, I was fully planning to create the thread I said I was going to make, but the spoiled nature of the Warriors' current fan support has me thinking otherwise.

You don't see me creating a thread about how I was wrong about the Celtics, now do you?

It's really cruel of you to withhold another thread from us. What kind of monster are you?!?
