The difference between rings and MVPs is that rings are determined on the court. There’s no subjectivity involved. A team won or they didn’t win. But with MVPs and these other accolades you’re at the whim of voters in the media. And let’s be real. That segment of sports has gotten way too big for their britches and see themselves on an equal level in this whole operation as the players. The market is flooded and it’s become “good business” to say and put out the most whacked out shit so you can stand out in a crowded market. They’ve made a mockery of this.Yeah he's too in his feels on this, for obvious reasons. Jokic and Embiid are much closer this year than Lebron and Rose were.
But that said, he's not wrong about Nash and Jokic vs Kobe/Shaq/Hakeem/KD. But that's sports sometimes, same thing as Barkley and Malone and Ewing and CP3 and other greats not having rings and other lesser players having many. There's only one MVP every year, and there are always many who deserve it.
