Oh wait. LA already has the Lambs, so I'll say they can go with The Landover Lemmings.

Did they really change it or is WFT a transition to another name in the future?

Confusing to day the least.

Nearly a month before Washington's planned name-change reveal, WashingtonAdmirals.com redirects to the team's official website, WashingtonFootball.com. The "Admirals" nickname, meanwhile, is reportedly among nine different finalists for the club's new identity, along with "Armada," "Presidents" and "Red Hogs."

It's possible that Washington did not set up the WashingtonAdmirals.com domain, but it should be noted that no other combination of "Washington" plus other rumored nicknames -- like "Armada" or "Brigade" or "Commanders" -- presently link to the team website. That could mean several things: someone accidentally linked the "Admirals" page to Washington's website, Washington accidentally linked the pages early, or someone is trying to fool everyone before the official unveiling.

In any event, "Admirals" certainly appears to be in contention for Washington's new name. The team also teased new uniforms Tuesday that feature stars on the jerseys, which would blend with the military theme of several reported name options.

Admirals are fat, lazy bureaucrats. Commanders would more likely be men of action.

On KFFL we had a somewhat curmudgeonly poster who was a Cowboys fan named Rear Admiral. I am not sure if he is still around, he was an older fella. But he would be raising the war sails over this! You can't do this to the navy officers of the world, have such a shitty, low-class team named after them!

Eureka! I have the solution! Just shorten the name Washington football team!

Washington football team becomes Washington foam.

RA was a classic curmudgeon, but he knew his stuff. He got on me about the Vikings crushing the Cowboys and said "Stop Roostering! You haven't won anything yet!" He turned out to be right.

His wife had to post an update for him once when he was in the hospital, but he came back. But I imagine that he's probably not around anymore.
