Heinicke does have some issues but we don't have a 2nd wr making to free up McLaurin
OK, I understand that, but do you believe that this issue is resolved by adding another pass catcher such as Samuel?

He is not seeing the field definitively country. Adding Samuel (who can win his matchup) will likely dictate he goes to Samuel while missing "other" open receivers. How can a QB who knows this system not understand who will likely be open vs coverage being run? This is like year 4-5 in this system. Sounds like the coaches expect more of him for sure. His oline has been fairly solid so you can't completely blame his decision making on his allowable time to throw, run game is solid when we stick with it (when not behind early) so, what gives with TH missing open receivers? I agree his arm strength likely will not improve.

Does this team need better wide receivers/ pass catchers or is this a Heinicke issue?

It would be nice to have at least 2 dependable WRs right now. By dependable I mean WRs that have a proven track record in the NFL. So I'd say the answer to that question is yes, but I'd say that even w/o the specific issue your question is referring to.

Far as a direct response to your question. and whether TH is at fault. He certainly didn't get much help from WRs last Sunday. Brown dropped a pass that could've been a huge play, Cam dropped one, Humphries didn't bust a grape and LT dropped a pass n had a killer fumble. So yeah, I'd say there was a pass catcher issue, a significant one. At the samre time TH wasn't under any pressure when he threw his INTs and whilde I realize the Skins were fading fast. Throwing balls to the other isn't the way to stop from fading. He also threw a couple questionable passes in the NYG game as well with not much pressure on him. So the answer to your question is probably a two pronged one. Both are likely issues. Of the two, which is the bigger issue? I'm not sure, but it would probably be better for the Skins if it was the pass catchers and not the QB. Only because it would be, or at least should be, easier to acquire a legitimate WR than it would a legitimate QB. Not that the Skins have had much success in either dept over the last 30 years.

Yeah this is the way that I looked at it too! The writer of that article seems be inferring that this was a QB issue rather than a pass catcher one. I agree with you it's likely both and more troubling than what was inferred. I just wanted to get input from our board as a way to either confirm or eliminate the way I read it. Thanks!

I mean....TH was a 3rd string qb for a reason. How often do u see a guy come from nowhere and tear up the league.

Not a lot of Kurt Warners out there.

look actually playing is really different then watching . falco needs to grow but as far as i am concerned he is playing well , maybe not great , but well . our wrs will get better as time goes on

the huge issue is the defense . we are losing because we are 31st in the NFL

think about it every game we are down 7 before even getting the ball

dallas' defense is outplaying us and they sucked last year

what i am disappointed is the lack of effort the defense is playing with and the juvenile blown assignments with a DC who isnt making adjustments like he did last season

if it continues the falcons will beat us and beat us badly

Wow, can the guy get a few more starts before he is considered unusable?
If TH can't outplay Ryan and the falcons defense, then I'd be worried. But the guy has little experience starting and he had some good plays against the Bills.
Not saying he's perfect but its early in the year.

TH is better than what we had last season…without question.

The problem is the defense is not performing.

With all due respect you were Dwayne Haskins biggest supporter so your opinion on TH is taken very much with a grain of salt. You could count DHs positive/good plays on 1 hand during his time here and yet you defended him till end

I have begun to notice a trend in quarterbacks you like and defend to no bound and those you are ready to toss to the side.

Btw side note… Lamar Jackson will never play in a super bowl as a starting QB and he severely limits what the Ravens could do in Dec and on… ravens have a big Lamar Jackson problem, I believe the brass knows deep down they can never win anything of importance with a running back pretending to be a quarterback
First off, welcome or welcome back whichever applies!

People draw conclusions all of the time about NFL players. That said, I not going to say much else about Haskins beyond the fact that his story hasn't been completely written yet and that the success or failings of players often is determined by where they are employed just as much as the talents that they have. I still believe DH will show more than he has because of his talent, potential, and the fact that he won't remain the young impulsive knucklehead that he was when here. He's in the right place now.

About that trend that you're noticing, I confess, you got me, what more is there to say beyond...

I actually study players and prefer young over old (I'm old, sue me) I prefer real talent over mediocrity, potential over the limited, natural intrinsic behaviors over the non gifted or less gifted. Physical skills over mediocre ones.

So, what's left to say other than players are supported and tossed aside by almost every living human that follows the game, given what I've just outlined, what makes my rationale something that should be "noticed" as a "trend." Say it, I dare you!

Sn to your Sn: I don't really care about Lamar Jackson. I can't say for certain but perhaps you've noticed that he plays for Baltimore, a place that I've joked about needing a passport to get into, instead of Washington the team that I actually follow and when appropriate, "defend to no bound."

Not bad by Taylor with the huge assist from McKissic
McLaurin also bailed his ass out. We got very lucky today. That was a terrible decision by Taylor that fortunately worked out. he Has got to get over those errant decisions or he isn’t gong to make it. Other than that, Taylor had a very good game.
