He made what I thought was a great point about where your boy Baker is in his development.

Basically, he said that it's time to move off of the "is Baker a franchise quarterback" discussion. He said that he's proven that he's clearly a franchise quarterback. He said that now it should be "is he special/elite" and that will be shown with how he responds when the Browns are trailing late in games.

That's pretty spot on, imo.
agreed....thought I saw he's among league leaders in 4th quarter comebacks with 6-7. Not sure of time frame. Maybe since 2019? And, sure, he's had his share of late INTs or fumbles.

Yeah, one of his question marks about them coming into the season was the defense. He didn't think it would be better...and it is.
Yep.

That is the reason the Raiders fell apart after 6-4 and 6-3 starts the last 2 seasons.

I credit the DC Gus Bradley and him targeting players that have played for him.....they look improved SO FAR,

Nope. It's likely that the Browns will be overvalued. They're currently 3-0 vs the spread which impacts what the line is set at in future weeks. I would put Cleveland around -3.5/-4 myself. If Vegas posts a line higher than that, I'm likely to bet it.
Browns didnt hit the spread vs. the Texans unless I am mistaken.

him vs. Cousins should be a good matchup this week.

Cousins has been very good so far this year.

I am glad OBJ is back- but if I could pick between OBJ and Landry I take Landry all day every day. Landry will be out at least 2 more games unfortunately.

Landry is tough, physical, a leader, catches everything, blocks like a tight-end, goes over the middle.

He is also their emergency QB and emergency kicker. lol.

Like why are you expecting me to shit on Winston? The team is 2-1. I'm not going to come on here and say he going to be a turnover machine like you hope i would. Saints are doing what is necessary to limit his turnovers as i had a good feeling they would

Guess how many games in Tampa from 2017-2019 that he attempted 22 or fewer passes in tampa where he started and finish the game
i think, considering the Saints situation and Brees retiring and no high pick, and no good backup- that a project like Jameis, who was a former #1 overall pick and has a lot of athletic ability is a good gamble.

Sean Payton is one of the few head coaches in the league that i think is very well qualified to have him break bad habits.

They have one of the best running backs in the NFL which should take some pressure off.

my concern about the Saints is depth, defensive backfield, and of course Jameis. Winston can win you 9 games in this league if you keep him under raps, have a good defense, a good line and a good running game-and dont make him throw 40 times a game.

Can he win 11-12 games a year? We shall see.

Its hard to win 11-12 games in the NFL with a QB who you limit to less than 25 throws a game (if that's the plan).

Stefanski kind of did the same thing to Mayfield last year- said we want you to focus on being a real QB and not just a thrower- and tried his best to keep him to 25- or under 30 at most- throws on most games- especially early on, and then little by little opened it up. I think thats a good plan with Winston.

preach ball control, efficiency, and get him playing the whole game---- and then- if he shows he can do that and be efficient- maybe open it up a little.

thing is- at some point- in this league there are going to be games where you have to throw 35-40 times and score 35 points.

Per Shefter, Gordon signs with KC.....didn't see that coming.
outside guy with size.

2 guys on KC scare you- Hill and Kelsey. Thats pretty much it- yah they have some other guys- but nobody that scares you

Gordon can put some fear into you and have some great size.

its probably 1/4 chance it works out- but if it does it gives them that third playmaker they lack right now.

not overly impressed with any rb they have--- and the o-line of the Chiefs seems average- maybe slightly above average.

Yep....but the Browns are at home and Jville and the Jets are for sure worse than the Bears and likely on par with Houston or worse than them. Browns also will be at home.

you think Denver will be favored? Try to just answer and not deflect, spin, distort
a) yes
b) no
Denver's offense is nothing to worry about.

Denver's defense is very good. We shall see who is healthy on both sides when the game is played a few weeks from now.

Landry should be back by then

the key to the Browns for the vast majority of the games will be getting a lead. They are built to CRUSH with a lead because of their o-line, running game, and Garrett/Clowney. If they can play from ahead - most games they are going to put away.

I hope and expect that to happen vs. Denver.

Chargers is the game out of these 4 that worries me the most- by far.

I obviously dont see the Browns going worse than 2-2 in the next 4. Cant decide if 3-1 or 2-2 is more likely. I want to see 3-1 is more likely but i dont have a huge degree of confidence.

4-0 is certainly possible- not likely but possible. If they get this run game going consistently and the defense stays hot- this is a team that can rattle off some wins very quickly.

Myles Garrett just had 4 and a half sacks in one freaking game.

The Raiders are better than the Browns.
they play later this year. Browns are going to eat the Raiders alive. Chubb and Hunt and that o-line are too much. It will be a slow, painful, agonizing defeat for your silver and black as you watch Nick Chubb and Hunt trade-off big gains in the 4th qtr. to salt it away with Carr holding his hog on the sidelines.

What position are you concerned about their depth? Don't say defense. The depth at defense is really good. I like the defensive backfield now. Our rookie is looking good and they have 3 vets if shit goes wrong

Jameis throwing 40 times? At this point they not going to have him throwing 30 times a game

Looking at their schedule, I can only see this happening maybe 4x. The 2 games vs Tampa, Dallas, and Buffalso. Those are the only teams with real offensive firepower and if our defense is as good as they looked in preseason and so far 3 games in then I think they can probably contain those teams enough where they can hopefully stick to the game plan.

If they win these next 2 vs the NFC Least teams then I love their chances. 4-1 with not exactly a murder row schedule sounds like a good formula for 11+ wins. Would require them to just go 7-5 in the final 12. The final 12 include 2 vs Atlanta, Philly, Jets, and home games vs Miami and Carolina. IMO that should be at least 4-5 wins then just find 2 wins or so in the games vs Seattle, Tampa 2x, Dallas, Buffalso, and Tennessee. I think it is very very doable especially if they are at 4-1. Dropping one of these next 2 games make it more challenging though.
thing is- at some point- in this league there are going to be games where you have to throw 35-40 times and score 35 points.

If/when that happens, I pray it is when we are closer to full strength on offense. We are currently without our 1st and 3rd WR and now our LT who is one of the best in the game will be out a while

Not really.

It is obvious he isn’t the answer at QB.

Now it should be clear to everyone.
Great guy but I watched a college offense have to reduce the playbook because he couldn’t transition through reads.

The problem is that this should have been self evident. The Eagles sat at 6 in a QB heavy draft. They could have moved up for Trey Lance or stayed out for Fields or Mac Jones. But they worked from some ridiculous idea that they would let hurts prove he couldn’t play before moving on. And the 2022 QBs are underwhelming. Mistakes compounding other mistakes.
