A playoff win for our fans would mean alot. Who cares what the record is.

A playoff win would be cool right now. It won't mean shit though come next year if the Skins end up in 3rd or 4th place in the NFC East, Hell, as they won the NFC East this year. They should be able to win the NFC East next year or at least make the playoffs only with a better record. I'm thinking double digit wins.

I heard a bit of talk about this yesterday, perhaps I'll create a thread about it, but at this moment I'll ask you. What would you be willing to give up in trade if Washington inquired and the Texans were open to doing it?

If that were a possibility wow.

cant fitz take us to a super bowl ? will he win enough games to take us out of the running for the next , great qb ? i guess for me to sign fitz i have to see who we pick up in the draft

We are already out of the running for the next great QB.

This team is built to win now with the defense. It would be a shame to waste that.

History has proven you don’t need a great QB to win a Super Bowl if you have an elite defense. Not sure Fitz is that guy, but unless you are dealing for a DeSean Watson type, acquiring a player like Fitz allows you to continue to invest in other areas of the team.

Fitz turns the ball over too much. At this point in his career, can he be more conservative? I’m not sure. When he is “on,” FitzMagic can be awesome to watch.

If we get a QB like Stafford, yes 10 wins should be doable.

here is the pit fall we always fall for , the 7 win team is ready to win now .i knew making the playoffs would skew peoples reality. there is no law that says we have to spend all our cap space on new free agents . we can spend that on our guys so why are we creating artificial pressure on ourselves ?

if i make a move at qb fitz,we would be in the running for sure, but do we go with allen as the groom guy or montez ?

realistically i feel carr or darnold offer any long term solutions that will allow us to keep most of our key guys

i just hope that we dont repeat the mistakes of the past and make knee jerk moves that will screw us yet again

There is a lot of credence in you message. Our defense is built to win now and next year may be the last year that some of our key guys are here. I also agree that we don't need a great QB to run this offense, just one who has two legs and is capable. I'd like to see a QB a bit more mobile than Fitz. Watson is not going to be available despite his current disposition. The Texans would be fools to let him go. They will placate him somehow (money usually works). Dak would be an interesting choice as would Stafford. But I'm not ready to give up draft capital for Stafford. Dallas will hang onto Dak at least for another year. Don't be surprised to see Dallas draft Dak's replacement. This is where Allen and Snyder erred on the Cousins situation. They never drafted his replacement to be groomed while they were making Cousins a multimillionaire with one year deals.

Having said all that, it is my belief that Kyle Allen will be our starting QB next year. He may fit the bill if we don't have to ask to much of him. He has a strong arm and is mobile. He knows the offense.

Smith’s injury and then calf injury, obvious. But do you know or think we should be worried about Allen’s durability? Any QB out there is one snap away, but would any FA be more durable or were his injuries one offs? (Obvious familiarity with this offense, coach, and roster is a plus for Allen.)

I'm not familiar with the total FA list for QBs next year, but I can't think of one other than Dak that is head and tails above Allen. We should worry about every QB's durability. I think that Allen's' two injuries were a broken ankle and a broken wrist. Those seem like one off injuries to me.

I definitely do not want the team to spend on free agents. That almost never works in the NFL.

I also believe the 7-9 record is very misleading. If a healthy Alex Smith starts all season we win 9 or 10 at least. Maybe even 11.

Granted, that is against an extremely soft schedule, but still.

This team is a dependable game manager QB away from being legitimately good. If they can acquire that guy cheaply, then great!

Maybe Fitz isn’t that guy. But Darnold isn’t either.

I think Darnold is the victim of a bad organization , but I think Garrapolo and Carr could be answers

You may be right, but it’s a risk. he could have been part of the problem. I’m not sure I wanna go into next year as our main man.

Darnold is a victim of a bad organization, but he was also a severely overhyped prospect.

He has always made way too many mistakes with the ball. Even in college.
