Does Pitt play their starters that game?
this is a good question.

I THINK that if the Steelers lose they may face the Browns the next week (either them or Buffalo), so i dont know how that comes in.

what a disaster though.

Browns were without:

1. Their stud rookie LT- Jedrick Wills who has been great all year- Covid protocol
2. Their stud right guard Wyatt Teller- who PFF has as the #1 guard in the league and has been unbelievable all year
3. Their best backup lineman Harrison who just went on IR last week
4. Their starting outside linebacker Phillips who wasi n COVID protocol
5. Their other starting outside linebacker Goodson who was in COVID protocol.
6. Obviously their #1 WR Beckham who has been out for a while.
7. Their other stud reciever Jarvis Landry who was in COVID protocol
8. Their 3rd best receiver Higgins who has been great since OBJ went down- in Covid protocol
9. Their 4th best receiver- Peoples-Jones- who has been in COVID protocol
10. Their 5th best receiver- Hodges- who was in COVID protocol

and of course---- they have been without their last 2 second round picks- Greedy Williams and Grant Delpit--- the planned starting safety and cornerback all year.

That- and it happening on SAturday afternoon less than 24 hours before the game started totally screwed up any kind of chance to change the game plan. It delayed the flight out by several hours.

I mean what a mess.

The last 3 weeks they said Baker was sacked 3 times- against some defenses that get after the QB in the Giants and Ravens and Titans (well not so much the Titans.

they gave up 4 sacks yesterday to the Jets- more than in the last 3 weeks COMBINEd- playing without 3 of their top 6 o-line man and no kind of wide receivers to keep the defense honest.

its just such a Browns piece of luck.

but if you would ask me---- the Browns have a chance on the last week of the season to get 11 wins and make the playoffs by beating Pittsburgh at home---- i would have taken that in a second.

I just hope Teller and Wills are back. Missing those guys on the line changed the game more than anything. You go from 2 really good lineman, and missing Harrison- your beset backup who was a starter last year--- to guys that really just arent very talented. Getting Teller and Wills back is really important.

I didn’t see Ronnie Harrison. Hopefully he is back next week as well. Just terrible luck but oh well. Beat Pitt and they are in, no excuses gotta get it done. Hopefully they are healthy Sunday

totally forgot that Harrison- while he was taken off the IR- did not play.

I mean fuck.

3/4 of the defensive backfield they thought htey would have were out
2/3 of the starting linebackers
5/5 of the receivers were out, lol
3 of their top 6 lineman were out

i dont care who you play.....thats fucked up.

honesetly---- i mean having all your receivers out is crazy---- but the line being what it was i think was the worst part. Harrison was a very capable backup.

when you are starting the backups backup at 2 offensive line positions it gets a little hairy as we saw.

If Matt Barkey and Chase Daniel can be in the NFL.....no reason why Haskins can't. That's just a few off the top of my head.

Been hearing all last week Teller not until playoffs (if they make it). should have Harrison back, though.

what I find most comical is the fans who must blame someone every time their team loses seem to be pointing to stefanski of all people. why? He didn't run enough...never mind they were at about a yard/carry into the 3rd quarter and they actually made their comeback passing the ball, so the pass was working.

all the issues you mentioned, -2 in TOs had a TD taken away and still were driving in final minute with a shot to tie. Yes, just the Jets, but the wunderkind coach lost to them at full strength at home last week.

I do love that coach and Baker took the blame and made no excuses in their pressers.

Yeah but just because he was released doesn't mean his career is over at just 23.

It’s basically over.

He is more likely to be out of the league entirely within the next 2 years than he is to start another NFL game.

It speaks volumes that his hometown team that drafted him in the 1st round just last year would outright release him after week 16.

His toxic presence in the locker room isn’t worth waiting 1 more week then trying to trade him because they knew they weren’t getting anything in return.

He probably gets signed by somebody as a 3rd stringer or practice squad guy, but even that isn’t a given.

Neither of those guys are asshats who divide a locker room.

Haskins is a bad QB. But there are surely worse QBs than him that will be on rosters next year.

But character matters. If you aren’t a very good player, you damn well better be a great locker room guy.

Actually don't think scenario 3 that nuts. GB could win at home tonight and is favored. Bmore will beat Cinci. Miami would win if Bills rest players which they might. Toughest would be Houston, but they play a lot of close division games.......we need to take care of scenario 1 though.

I have to think Buffalo tries to win considering it will be the difference between them getting a 2 or a 3. I understand there's not much of a fan element but home in Buffalo as opposed to road in Pittsburgh if it came to that.

No reason Haskins can't find a home when guys like Ryan Finley, Jeff Driskel, Brett Hundley, Chris Streveler (Cards), Garrett Gilbert, Nate Sudfeld, Sean Mannion, Blaine Gabbert, Ryan Griffin, and John Wolford are on rosters.
