Depends on my scheme

If you're going to utilize his athleticism then yes. If you're going to use him more classically then no. I don't love the other options over him though either.

He will struggle against complex defenses initially. If you give him a complex offense that is a bad combo.

Also no if you have a bad OL. He holds the ball too long right now

Pretty much this, if he wasn’t projected top 3 I would say come back another year but that ain’t happening.

If they were out of it I agree...but you gotta try and win that game and clearly Fitz gave them the best chance.

That said, I have never been more irritated about the outcome of a game that did not involve my own team. This is not hindsight as thought at the time....how do you not try to run it in on 3rd down? Make it and you are up 5 or 7 (pending conversion). Miss and still run down clock and kick FG. I'd rather be up 5 or 7 with a minute left than up 2 with 20 seconds. as well as he played, Fitz isn't Joe Montana.

admittedly, at halftime of IU game I might have said yes. But even then thought he held the ball too long and didn't trust his WRs to make plays....and that was when his WRs were elite and far better than nearly anyone who covered them. Wont have that in the NFL.

If I'm the Jets I might roll with darnold and see if a real coach can change him.

Would it even be a shock if worst of the worst case happens (starting with Miami's ridiculous win last night)? Browns loss with steeler loss, and of course Bills with no reason to try and beat Miami next week? Hard not to think like this as a Browns fan.

I've already been thinking about the Browns worst case scenario for a couple of weeks. If they have letdown against the Jets today that wouldn't be good. With how they've been playing lately no reason they can't win out to finish the regular season. But it's the Browns. Anything is possible.

I was surprised they didn’t try for the TD. There would have been 55 seconds instead of 20 but you make them go the whole field. Dumb decision and one of the worst fuck up’s at the end of the game I’ve seen in awhile. In 8 seconds they got a 50 yard play with the penalty.

Most important thing and the Browns philosophy right now, just focus on going 1-0 and it really has helped them. They will be short-handed today and this will test Stefanaski and this team like never before Cov1d related but I believe in this coaching staff. If Mayfield goes out and throws for 250 yards and 3 TD’s today of all games...wonder what the critics excuse will be now lol. That would be funny stuff but as long as they can fight out a win today
