Let the voting begin. This oughta be good. They were the Boston Braves in 1932.

I picked savages, but only because Scalpers wasn't available....I'd name them something actually offensive just to aggravate them more....But the NFL is trash to me now with BLM pandering....I think it will be done in the next 2 seasons if that....A one world league is what they're after...Commie dogs.....

How about Renegades? Remember the Washington Federals of the USFL? They left after 2 seasons and became the Orlando Renegades...where they had their best season (5-13).

I wonder if the plan is to eliminate any Native American ties. I think that'd be a mistake. The logo is iconic and NOT offensive. Braves, Warriors, Indians, etc. would work.

Washington Hogs.

I think the fan base could handle that without getting too triggered, and we know these DC types feed at the public troth

Changing the name is just low hanging fruit for people who want an easy way to fill good about themselves for correcting a "massive" evil while they completely ignore real issues that could actually help the people they claim they are championing.

The Native American community faces big problems with unemployment, drug abuse, education, and etc but instead of using their time and energy to helping improve their living conditions they go after the name of a football team that would address none of those issues and at this point if you hear the name Redskins most would associate with the football team and not a racial slur.

Not to mention slowly erase any representation Native Americans have. You could argue it's a negative representation but they don't replace it with a "positive" representation and they just completely remove it all together.

Its not Native Americans leading this. Last time it was White politicians. This time Corporate America.

So if you look around their locale, there are the Capitals, Nationals, and Wizards. So Washington may want to have a name relating to such terms.

I have thought of three new names

Washington Senators
Washington Gentlemen
Washington Revolution (this one might be offensive)

The first one really stands out to me.

Another standout is using an old NFL nickname. After all, the Texans adopted the old Chiefs nickname when they were in Dallas.

Washington Oilers

That may have some resonance with the NFC East and not make Washington stand out like they haven't been around for years. The downside is Oilers represent oil, a staple of Texas. Like Ewing Oil.

Also, with these names, Washington can still keep their burgundy and gold colors.

For the Senators, I imagine Senators to be spelled in gold with burgundy shadowing and in the middle, the main logo, a thin white shadow figure with a bow-tie and handlebar mustache. Almost like the monopoly millionaire figure or Planters peanuts figure.

For the Gentleman, a white-illuminated clear wine glass of white wine in a sea of burgundy(the background). For this one, the gold goes. "Gentlemen" is in white font.

As for the Revolution, This would have the team name in gold with burgundy shadowing, and an American Flag. But again, this would be offensive to a lot of people. It could also be a little alternated by changing from burgundy to red or blue with the title in white with blue or red shadowing titling.

The Oilers make the most sense, it has that nostalgic effect. And it can be in the same team colors. But D.C. does not stand for oil.
