players that you thought were going to be good, but ended up not working out at your favorite school

Richard Washington is my pick. Really liked his mixtape. Thought all he had to do was put on some muscle + stop being so reliant on going left. Great jumper, good court vision and handles @ 6'6. I thought he was going to be a solid four year player that had a chance to breakout as an upper classmen.

nope, he sucked. He couldn't even see the floor on a 20 loss team during his sophomore year. he transferred to San Jose State, where he put up this stat line: 10.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 1.6 APG, 37% FG, 34% 3 pt FG.

so i thought a guy that can't even shoot 40% from the field at San Jose State was going to be a solid contributor in the ACC. not exactly my finest hour

Olu Famutimi was the 7th ranked player in the 2003 class. Ended up averaging 8 points and 4 rebounds for us and for some reason declared for the draft after his sophomore year and went undrafted.

Our 2011 class was 8th in the country headlined by 5* BJ Young and I don't think any of the 5 played a minute in the NBA. One didn't qualify, another ended up transferring to Kansas where he didn't do much, and a third transferred to TCU.

Jahvon Quinerly is the obvious choice as he came in as a McAA and played something like 9 minutes a game of garbage time and then transferred.

Dominic Cheek, class of 2009 was a McDAA and supposedly we took him away from Kansas. He stunk, stat wise was so-so, but all he could do was jump and shoot, couldn't dribble, no BB IQ.

Back then, there was no Ballislife, Mixtape, so you couldn't see these guys before hand.

Overall though, Wright has been amazing on recruits panning out overall.

Pitino has landed 3 top 75 recruits at Minnesota. Daniel Oturu, Amir Coffey and Isaiah Washington. I thought Washington was going to be a really, really good player. He only started 4 games in 2 years at Minnesota and ended up transferring to Iona this past season. He actually did pretty good there this past season averaging 11.4 ppg and 4.0 assists. But Iona also had their worst season in over a decade so it didn't translate to wins.

For UConn the hype behind Ajou Deng and Ater Majok was ridiculous.

Jamal Coombs McDaniel was a 4 star player who really never developed into anything.

Rich Washington was my personal pick, but from the perspective of the entire fan base, the correct answer is either Ty Walker or Tony Woods

Walker was a consensus 5*, while Woods as a 5* on Rivals and a 4* on Scout

Woods was a rotational player that was rather unimpressive. He ended up transferring out of Wake after he beat up his girlfriend following his sophomore season.

Walker was a major disappointment. He might be the biggest bust in the history of Rivals and Scout. Best season @ Wake was 4.2 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 2.6 BPG. Let me remind y'all, he was a consensus 5*

oh and he also got dismissed from the team a few days after his senior day, LOL

and tbh, Chaundee Brown wasn't as good as he was advertised to be. I put that on Manning though, not on Brown. I wish we could have seen what Brown could be under a good coach, but unfortunately he just committed to play for Juwan Howard.
