I bet he'd do well in New England - that FO is smart and knew he would be cut eventually and nobody would trade for him. New England has to be attractive for Dalton given he'd be under Belichick who I think could get quite a bit out of him. Dalton is terrible under pressure but the Pats blocking unit is getting some guys back and is around a top 10 unit... Bengals have routinely been one of the worst in the league the last half decade, so I'd think Dalton will do well in New England.

I'm getting old... I mean, I'm only 42.5, but I can't lust over chicks that young anymore... Too close to my daughter's age.
I'm older than you but I can still list over her. Ofcourse I don't have a daughter.

Yeah, that daughter part is the reason.

Young ladies that age - my instinct is to treat them as my own daughter.
Young guys that age - my instinct is to treat them as convicted felons.

Whoever would rather have Newton over Dalton needs their head examined.

* Inserts Colin Cowherd *. * Inserts Stephen A Smith *.

So how the hell are the Pats with their 1.9 mill in cap space supposed to land Dalton and pay rookies?

The Cap is the most movable "obstacle" ever invented.

This will be a huge get for the Patriots and keep them in playoff contention.

You wrote a lot of words and said nothing.

Didn't even want him to mentor Burrow. Poor Dalton. Maybe Belichick can make something out of him. Or at least bring Andy in to walk his dog.

At nearly $18MM a year, no NFL team is keeping a player around to be a backup at that price - and no way Dalton (who still wants a shot to start) would take a pay-cut. Not to mention, if Burrow starts from day 1 and has some bumps (and he will) having a long-standing QB who has won games in the past in the shadows can add a lot of issues both for the team, the QB's, etc...they say when you have 2 QB's you have none - and I happen to agree with that sentiment. It's best for all, if Burrow is going to be the man going forward, that Dalton had to go.

This allows Andy to find a team well before the season and get a shot at starting. Best of luck to him. I think under the right circumstances, he can win some games - even in January.

I said three distinct things and used relatively few words for each. Read again.

You puked out some general response that does not answer the question. That is what you did, it's akin to any passive agressive approach.

With 1.9 mil and having to sign rookies land Dalton would be daunting and a waste of what little cap space they have. It would require a lot of cuts or restructuring of deals that players may not want to deal with. Especially in light of the fact a portion of the season could be in jeopardy.

The Pats are moving on from TB12 and have 2 QBs under contract two that know the system and a few rookie UDFA that cost next to nothing. IMO signing Dalton does not make this team better so I don't see the logic in it.

trade Thuney...

Why? I would rather have an experienced O Linemen to work the Stidham. They drafted him, they feel comfortable with him. You are willing to give up a solid O linemen for a QB that is not consistent.
