Yes it's better depth wise than the WCC, but in comparison to other power leagues, there isn't much depth to the Pac 12. It's been that way since 2016, and that appears to have been out of the ordinary because since then the Pac 12 has gotten 4 bids, 3 bids and 3 bids respectively to the tournament since that year, and this year would appear to be 4, maybe 5.

it's historically been like that

Arizona, UCLA and Utah are the only three Pac-12 schools with 20+ NCAAT appearances. Utah joined the conference in 2011.

Damn. That's a hell of a stat. It's weird because when I was growing up and first started following CBB Stanford was an elite program at the time. After Montgomery left, it's been average to below average, outside of the couple of seasons with the Lopez twins. I guess I always have thought of Stanford being a better program then they actually are, based on when I started watching.

when i was looking up those numbers, Stanford's lack of history was somewhat of a surprise. I'm only 28, but I'm old enough to remember those early 2000s Stanford squads. I also knew Montgomery was there for a long time, so I figured they at least had a Wake Forest type of basketball history

nope. the Montgomery era is all they have

Yeah I'm a little older than you, I was 12 when they made the FF in 98, and then in 99 they were the #2 seed in the same pod the Gophers were in, so I just figured that was the norm for them. Then they followed that up with back to back 1 seeds. I guess it makes sense now why they've been pretty mediocre this last decade. Hell the Gophers went to 4 times as many tournaments as Stanford did last decade. If you would have told the 2004 version of me that, I would have told you get the FOH.

Good win. Getting in the tourney might not happen this year, but on the road back.
It’s a long shot, especially playing sc asu and az to finish up. The new coach is starting to get results tho.

Meh, Cronin's OK.

I think they should have held out and they'd have some better options.

But you can't keep UCLA down long.

I'd say they have to win the PAC12 tourney to get in.
