Brown is gone for sure if they don't make the ECF and there is a very good chance if they don't make the finals.

Not sure if Lue is the right guy to replace him, though.

I mean aside from the Laker thing with AI, what reason would there not be to get him?

He has championship experience as a coach.
He outcoached Kerr in the 2016 NBA finals.
He can relate to a volatile locker room and help calm it due to his past as a player.

My concern with Lue is that his only head coaching experience was with Lebron James. James controls the offense and he controls the locker room. I really don't know if he is able to be an Xs and Os guy.

As for who I would pick, I don't really have a guy in mind. I don't have enough information to make an informed opinion.

I would think Lue would use Simmons in a very similar fashion to Lebron. Get him going down hill a ton. Lebron is obviously a much better shooter than Simmons, but Lue made it a point to try to get Lebron going to the hoop a ton.

I think part of Joel Embiid not fulfilling his full potential yet is due to the coaching. He's not being utilized correctly by Brett Brown. I think if Philly doesn't make the ECF, or even if they do and have a poor showing Brown is gone. They need an x's and o's coach now. If I were the 76ers I'd throw a lot at Ty Lue to get him to come over. His championship experience, him being a former player, I think he'd be able to help potentially push them over the top.

Brown is wasting Simmons too.

They need to run more pick and roll and get Simmons downhill where he can use his gifts.

Embiid is almost as frustrating at LeBron James. So much potential that if he had an ounce of aggressive and killer instinct he would be near impossible to stop. Too big for really anyone to guard him, too athletic for a true C to guard him. Too strong and big for a PF to guard him. Certainly too big for a SF to guard him.

He's a matchup nightmare, but he walks around out there like he's lazy. Dude should be putting up 35/20 on a nightly basis.

I agree with this. The players seem to love Brown, although who knows if that is true or not. But the team seems to have no system beyond DHOs. And he doesn't seem to know how to break negative cycles, like the 2nd quarter last night.

The fans have been turning on Brown since the playoffs last year. Which is why I think that Brown is gone if they don't reach the finals this year.
