Met him a couple years back down at the Senior Bowl. One of the nicest football people I have ever met. Took time to talk to anyone that even just looked at him. I only went up and introduced myself and shook his hand and next thing I know he is going on and on and pretty much at the end said if I needed anything throughout the week to let him know.
Honestly his induction might be my favorite so far of any Bronco. Champ is a close second but I cannot wait to hear his speech.
Also glad to see some Broncos finally getting recognition. This is 4 Broncos in the past 3 years.

Everything I read over the years, he’s been as consistent as a person as he was a player. Not an easy balance to accomplish. Really pleased for him and the Broncos.

This franchise has been so disrespected by the HOF gatekeepers for so long. It’s good to see Atwater get in.

For such a storied franchise with 8 trips to the Super Bowl, playing for the Broncos seems to be the long road to Canton.

Steve Atwater hit on Christian Okoye is a cause and effect of how you beat the KC Chiefs.

We need to do what the Dolphins, bills ,and jets never did! Not even when the giants gave them a tin plate.

We have to lay the wood 10 or so time a game to Patrick Mahomes.

Atwater IMO ended Okoye carrier because after that he did not run with the same punishing style.

Mahomes gets that one time was he should of bobbed when he weaved and it will change him!

Elway had that moment twice in his time playing football. Errick Green play and once when playing the Chiefs and Marty had a bounty on Elway. They hit Elway out of bounds and knocked him under the player benches.

Both of them plays I thought Elway was dead.

I am not calling for dirty football . I am calling for drafting the best DE/NT(Javon Kinlaw) in the draft and keeping Wolf .

Kinlaw what I like is blowing up the play in the middle to help our OLB'er get to the QB in so many ways!

Very good player. I’m surprised that he got in though. Safeties have it rough. You could argue that LeRoy Butler was just as good and he didn’t get in.

Dennis Smith IMO was better overall. but he will never get in but he took over quite a few games.

Here are my memories of Atwater:

1) In his rookie season - he skys about 4 feet in the air - to intercept a ball thrown only about 10 feet away from with pace on it.

2) His hit on the Nigerian Nightmare.

3) His play in the Super Bowl against the Packers - to me that was like a Hollywood movie. Atwater had clearly gotten old that season - he still played at a high level but you could see he was nearing the end of his career Then came the Super Bowl and he played on of the great games of his career.

If Kinlaw is there it depends who else is around but I would think about him pretty hard. I think that was my biggest complaint about the Super Bowl is the refs refused to call a holding penalty on the Chiefs. Mahomes should have been hit 20 times in that game. Their OL was getting destroyed but the refs swallowed the whistle.

As with most QB's the more you hit them the more they get rattled. They start throwing off their back foot, getting it out early, and hearing ghosts. Mahomes looked rattled in that game and should have been a lot more rattled. In reality Mahomes is not why they won that game. He made a couple of big plays but they really did win in spite of him.

I noticed the same thing. The Chiefs May have set a record for uncalled holds in that one, maybe second only to the Panthers in 50.

It has me thinking: the Broncos have a young and marketable QB up and coming too, so they should go all in on offense so they benefit from those types of non calls too. I hate to say it because I still think defense is important but it is very clear the league wants offense right now. The defense is good enough that with an offense scoring in the 25-26 PPG range this team wins 11-12 games and challenges for the division.

Look at the crew who was there. They still played for the Pats.

I just noticed the grammar error in the title, for shame.

No real pushback on his selection either, which is a pleasant surprise to me.

Always like watching Atwater play. This is a well deserved honor. But it's insane it took him so long to get in.
